HD, Versatile, a little shoddy mfr and pkg
It's seems very versatile as claimed. Casting of parts is rough and not smoothed prior to coating. Not finely machined, but it's heavy duty design and material and and operates smoothly enough I guess. Time will tell.No paper documentation or instructions of any kind in box. Maybe they assume you don't buy this sort of thing if you don't understand it.I bought the kit with the white backdrop that was listed as coming with a 4" clamp, but none appeared in the package, which was disappointing, but not a big deal as these are cheap, common and super available. Seems worth buying if you want it's extra versatility, but be prepared to be underwhelmed by what comes out of package. I'm also not super confident in how it would wear if subjected to professional daily use...

almost perfect
I bought this C-stand for a couple reasons:1. The adjustable leg allows use on uneven terrain and stairs.2. The main post can move to one of the legs to position the light further into a corner when shooting in tight spaces.3. The turtle base makes hauling the stand easier when disconnected from the main post.4. My hope was that I could mount a light AND diffusion on to one stand....Item #4 will require a rigid diffusion frame mounted to the gobo arm on the lower leg. The issue I have is that the lower leg post combined with a gobo arm is not very tall. This limits the range of where I can position the light/diffusion set up. Also, the supplied clamp could rotate in more than one direction, as it limits the angle of use options. Even so, it's a solid build and useful alternative to conventional gobo heads (knuckle).Another option is to mount the light on the lower leg and bounce it off a 4x8 floppy mounted above it on the main post. While this stand should work well in some cases, I regret to say two C-stands will always offer greater flexibility if you have the room to place them on set.The build quality is pretty good, but not as refined as my Matthews and Avenger stands. Some of the clamp edges are hard and sharp to the touch. The locking bits seem fine, but only time will tell how they hold up. Due to the extra post and hardware this weighs a bit more than a normal C-stand, as you might expect. If you don't need the extra post, a rocky mountain leg stand may be a better choice and less expensive.Overall, I'm pleased with this stand at the sale price, and think it will come in handy.
