Questo libro, edito dal "Trust" è sicuramente la miglior monografia esistente sul barbagianni: vi si trattano in modo completo la biologia della specie, la sua distribuzione, lo status passato e presente e gli interventi da mettere in atto per la conservazione. Il tutto è approfondito in modo esemplare; cito ad es. i capitoli sui rodenticidi e quelli sui nidi artificiali. Poiché anche da noi questa specie è fortemente minacciata, questo libro offre quanto serve per affrontare il problema della sua conservazione.
