Cutting wheel has too much play and needs a thin washer. As you start the cut into the PVC pipe, the cutting wheel wobbles and wanders around as much as 1/16”. Once the cut is started, the blade will follow deviations cut in the plastic during previous passes.

the only reason im giving two stars is because this is a quality ridgid product with a lifetime warranty. However, the picture (showing a black handled tubing cutter) was misleading because this is a RED handled tubing cutter with a special blade made to cut plastic tubing only. The black handled tubing cutter is the one that you want for cutting aluminum and copper. The fact that this is specifically for plastics was also barely described in the product description. As one reviewer has stated, there is supposedly a copper/aluminum spare wheel inside the handle. Well, I took every screw off of this thing and opened up everything that was openable and there was no spare wheel to be found. Im returning the product because of the misleading picture, description, and lack of spare wheel for copper/aluminum. If the seller can tell you how to find the spare wheel then by all means order the thing.

I agree, the listing could have better detail but all that is needed to do is Google the model number listed and you will find all you need to know.And for those of you who didn't bother to read the packaging, YES, this cutter is installed with a PLASTIC cutting wheel. HOWEVER, there is a COPPER/ALUMINUM cutting wheel in the handle for cutting - you guessed it - copper and aluminum.There is also another wheel available for cutting soft/flexible plastics, that model is E-1740. All this information is located on the packing as well.

This is not as described, this is a plastic cutter with a platic cutting wheel, had to buy copper wheel because couldn't be bothered returning tool

Needed to replace plumbing in a rental with cpvc and needed a cutting tool to save time. This one does the job well! It cuts square and fast. Well worth the price.

Commercial plumber here...works great. I did break the slide so holding the release button too long could cause it to fall apart. I'm sure it broke from numerous drops from 8 ft ladder, not a rigid issue.
