A battery charge lasts about 15 minutes if all you are doing is racing straight away. It lasts longer the slower you go.

There are no preset speeds but the remote controls will let you go slow if you want to. You’re right about the battery time and the remote warns you when the battery is getting low. This is a very fast little boat my 10 year old grandson loves it and having 2 batteries gives you enough time to play with it.

Q: can you use it in salt water?

It is not recommended to use RC boats in salt water. The salt water residue will affect the cooling system of the remote control ship.
