I like this product. The smell is ok, not bad like has been described here. I find it softens my beard very well. I'll use it if I'm home all day, I don't use it to go out as I find it a bit heavy and greasy and use a balm before I go out the door. BUT, they decreased the size of the container from 4oz to 3oz since I bought it last January, yet the price has remained the same11/18/21 update: 1 StarI have bought this product 4 times over the last 3 years and I used to like it. This is not at all the same product it used to be. It used to be a thick paste that you really had to rub between your hand to soften up. It was a great product, did what it was supposed to do. Now it is a light cream, almost liquid and doesnt do a thing.

This product is by far the WORST smelling stuff I have ever purchased. I thought maybe if I actually tried some and worked it into my beard it would smell different than being in the jar but I was wrong. It just smelled like there was a massive dirt pile under my nose. I had to wash it out cause I couldn't stand it. The other thing I noticed is it's not even beard butter. It's a bunch of oils that are a solid until you work it in and it turns into oil. I personally do not recommend this and would give zero stars but you can try it for yourself.

I have seen Live Bearded products on the market for the last few months, but wasn't really sure about Butter for the beard. Trying different companies and their oil and balm, I never found anyone with a Butter. Being new to beards (I decided to let my man mane grow in my very late 50's) I decided to try this product and see how a butter worked vs a balm. I was happy to make purchase. The butter is a little thicker than a balm, and not as dry as a wax.- I have been using it all week to test the product on my gray beard, and so far I think it has made the old gray hair softer, and a bit more controlled.- The scent is different, but not bad. I find that when I first rub the butter into my hands and apply it to my beard, it has a different scent (stronger) than an hour later (pleasant).You get a lot for your money, and the BEST part is the company representatives contact you all through the process, and invite you to become part of the Bearded Brotherhood. It is quite an event. They have been quite encouraging.- Can't say enough good things, and my beard is looking very nice, thank you.

I hate the smell. It is insidious. I can't describe it well, but it smells almost like I might be having a stroke. But the product works great! Softens very well. I think I just need another scent.

This stuff is amazing!!!For a year+ I had watched all the Facebook posts about this product line for beards. I was used to beard balms - and therefore passed opportunities to try this stuff.It wasn’t until a dear friend of mine gave word of mouth testimony (which happened to be in line with what I read on the ole Book of faces). Several days later, I had the opportunity to splash some oil on my beard.Out of curiosity, I looked to see if Amazon carried the butter. They did....and I’m glad they did!! This stuff does a fantastic job with my beard. The hold is superior to the balms I’ve used. The scent is fantastic - and stays present throughout the day.High quality stuff - worth every “scent”.I will be purchasing again in the future!!

I have several beard butters that I have in rotation, and I like this stuff the best. It has a very unusual consistency and truly feels like butter. Far different than all the others. I have a lot of good products but this is my favorite.

Let me begin by saying that the companies customer service is beyond amazing. It is the best that I've ever encountered. Instead of the generic run of the mill responses that you may often get from not only beard product companies, but any one, no matter what product, you get a timely, well composed response. They truly strive to go out of their way to answer your questions, and make you feel apart of. As a consumer and small business owner, that is worth its weight in gold.The product - everything that it describes. It melts and absorbs into my beard with ease. After a cleansing with The Legend wash and an application of the same Butter, my beard felt quenched. Soft. Even supple. I have wasted a lot of money on different oils and balms (not going to badmouth the companies on here) but with Live bearded I have finally found my product that works for me.Lastly, I think a lot of the bad reviews on here are from those that critique just for the sake of doing so. Mostly the scent. You ARE going to smell a light yet natural vanilla scent - dont think of vanilla extract scent. Nothing like that. The sandalwood slightly offsets the vanilla to give it a unique scent. I can smell it hours later but unlike other products it doesn't give me a headache.Perhaps this review was a bit long, but Live Bearded deserves the credit. My money is hard earned and when something goes beyond expectation, it needs to be recognized.

The smell of this beard butter is just wonderful. After applying it I've been just sitting here enjoying the smell of my own beard. Yeah, I know that's really weird, but this stuff is that good.I had been using a different product from a different company. It was a balm that looked and felt like a balm or a butter. This stuff, well, when you get it, you'll know, looks like it dried out and has gone bad. It has not. When you scoop out a little on to your finger, you can kind of feel the oil. Don't make the mistake I did and try to push it straight into your beard. You can recover from that, but it'll take a little work. Instead, rub your hands together. The gritty dried out stuff softens then turns into a very light oil. Now you can apply it to your beard.It feels great. It holds shape pretty well. It doesn't have a high shine. My beard is softer and less out of control because of this butter. And the smell, I think I've mentioned. I liked it so much that I've also tracked down their beard oil and will be trying that in combination with this butter to see how it helps the beard.

I love the fragrance and the butter is great - very happy with the purchase.

Very disappointed. I actually love the smell, but when I opened it, was not a full container? Look at this picture.

The product truly smells unique and feels really great in the beard! A must buy!
