Gentle, Effective Mineral Sunscreen — Great for Sensitive Skin
This is a really nice option if you’re looking for a gentle, physical sunscreen. It has a watery formula, which can make application a little tricky at first, but it absorbs well and feels very lightweight once it’s on. It’s alcohol- and fragrance-free, which is super important to me since I’m sensitive to a lot of formulas and ingredients. Plus, it doesn’t sting my eyes at all — a huge win. While it does leave a slight white cast on facial hair, it’s much better than most physical sunscreens I’ve tried. It also has some great skin-beneficial ingredients like niacinamide, allantoin, vitamin E, and bisabolol, which help soothe and support the skin barrier. If you prefer to avoid chemical sunscreens or are sensitive to stinging, I would definitely recommend this. It’s a great choice for anyone with sensitive skin!

Makes my eyes tear and face white
Once upon a time, I had an Avene sunscreen. It was gentle, effective, left no white caste, and was virtually free of fragrance. But the Evil Queen of Cosmetic Reformulations grew jealous that young women so loved a product that kept their skin fair. She devised a scheme that every few years, a new formula would grow in the place of an old beloved one. Her minions worked tirelessly on this dark alchemy. You never knew when it was coming: what would they add in, what would they remove? Then the Evil Queen expanded her empire from the delightful province of France, known for its gentle skincare, into the dog-eat-dog world of America, known for pouring industrial waste into its toothpastes. And then ... well, the excrement really hit the oscillator. Everybody got confused. Suddenly, there were 2+ inferior products taking the place of a once single, superior one. And I've tried them all and they made me cry, and they left my skin looking pale - and I'm not actually tryin' to be Snow White here, folks. And this one? It made my nose run and my eyes red; and while it may have protected me from the sun's harsh rays, it made it no fun to go out at all looking like an irritated, allergic, ghostly mess!Raise your hand if you want to grab your pitchforks and put down the Evil Queen of cosmetic reformulations once and for all!
