Really wanted to love it!
From previous experience with Sony Vaio, I expected a top quality "functioning" laptop. While the laptop was extremely easy to set up, there were problems from the beginning. As outlined in other Sony Vaio reviews, the laptop continually drops the wifi signal and the only way to get it back is to shut down the machine. Unfortunately, the machine freezes up if you try to do a shutdown and the only way you can is to force it using the button. The next problem is I had to do a complete system restore twice because after shutting the laptop down it came back up with a black screen and no apps or files were visible.I spoke with Sony support representatives several times and they admit they know there is a problem with the wifi but they are "working on it" but as of yet they have no answer other than to try using a wireless adaptor to see if that helps. That is unacceptable for a laptop that cost roughly $1k!I returned the laptop and will continue to search for a replacement. I can honestly say I would have absolutely loved the laptop if it would have functioned and I am having trouble finding one that I like nearly as much as the Sony Vaio.

Nothing special...just good laptop
Meh. "Nothing to see here. Move along." That should be tag line. Oh, to be sure, it works. It is not speedy, it is not cutting edge, it is not memorable, it doesn't have a great keyboard, it doesn't have wow specs. Fortunately, my unit came with some damage on lid so I could return it.Pros: It functions. It isn't bad. It runs 8.1. It has fairly good screen. But amid the stunners available, this one is a middle of road yawn.

Great laptop. Very high quality build!
Yes there is an issue with the wi-fi but a $25 intel wi-fi card totally fixes the issue (a firmware update did help, but replacing the card is super easy and only $25- so that's what I'd recommend). After replacing the wi-fi card (which takes 5 min.) the wi-fi works flawlessly. This is a very good quality and attractive looking laptop. Very well made and no cheap plastic case here. It's beautiful black brushed aluminum. Very nice. The screen is super sharp at 1600x900 and looks absolutely fantastic. The Intel Core i5 is quite fast and 8GB of RAM is plenty. I really like this laptop it makes my old HP look like some cheapo bargain bin computer. It's really fast. And you can turn off the backlit keyboard in the command center if you want (I did). I also did do an upgrade from Win 8 to 8.1 but that wasn't a big deal at all. 8.1 is much better and the upgrade is free.Great little, super fast and responsive computer. Really Love it!

This lasted me less than one year and then crashed ...
This lasted me less than one year and then crashed. The back up version of windows was not loaded so the operating system was not recoverable and all the data disappeared too. I would never buy a sony laptop again.

If I could give this a negative star I would
WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!! WARNING!!!!!!!!!! I did not purchase this laptop from amazon but I am a frequent buyer on Amazon and feel very strongly that if someone is considering purchasing this computer my experience will help. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS POS! I have owned this laptop for 10 months and had to sent it into Sony twice now for repair. So of those 10 months I have had actual possession of it for less than 8 months and actually been able to use it about 1 month. The wireless internet adaptor card has a fatal flaw that Sony is aware of yet they are not doing a recall on it. Windows 8 stinks, I would use stronger language but I'm afraid amazon would not post this if I did. Sony has rebuilt my computer from scratch this last time in and it is still not working right. I have just spent the last 2 hours waiting for it to update (something you can not avoid as it is done automatically when booted up) when it updated then installed the 77 updates it encountered a problem so now it is attempting to uninstall the updates it has just installed! I have a feeling I will be calling Sony again. Maybe the Attorney Generals office as well, definitely the Better Business Bureau!DO NOT PURCHASE. THIS POS!!!!!!!!!

Fast, Reliable, and Innovative
This powerful touch-screen laptop is ideal for those on the go. It's compact design makes it ideal for travel, yet the i5 processor, Intel HD graphics card, and DVD Super-Multi Drive allow users to get the most out of the notebook. The Sony Vaio Fit is an outstanding product for today's busy business professionals.

I regret this purchase
This is my least favorite laptop I've bought, but also the most expensive. I have constant internet connection problems, the touch screen causes the pointer to freeze, and there are daily vaio updates. It frequently shuts down for updates without giving a choice to delay shutdown and requires 2 or 3 shutdowns for 1 update. This computer is very annoying and I don't recommend it.
