i-Tattoo electronic tattoo pen

I bought this toy because it seemed fun since my kids love tattoos. They enjoyed it immensely but after much thought, I have realized that it's just an ordinary pen that was hyped up. It turned out to be a pretty expensive pen with expensive refills. It also takes a bit of practice to do it properly. But in the end I am happy cuz it was appreciated by my kids.

My brother has a love for tattoos. One that is expressed by his profession and his body. His son, my nephew idolizes him to no end.I purchased this toy for my nephew for his birthday and I was not disappointed. He loved it and with all the wonderful features of this tattoo pen, I have no fear of it injuring him or causing a big mess.Him and his dad now share a love for giving each other tattoos.

This was a fun toy for my kids but after they used it a time or two they didn't have any interest in it. It's not very durable either, there are a lot of parts to keep track of and can be messy. I think temporary tattoo's are probably a better purchase than trying to do tattoo's free-hand with this toy.

We bought this for our 8 year old son for Christmas. It's a pretty cool toy. We attended a New Year's party and my son wanted to take this along. There were a few kids there, and they loved this toy. But what surprised me was how much the adults loved it. My son spent the last hour or more giving the adults "tattoos." It turned out to be the life of the party.

Bought this for my nephew, wasn't the only one he got that year even. I think even grandma got a tattoo for christmas. Besides if you get two for christmas no need to worry about the ink running out.

I'm stunned that this toy is still on the market and to top it off the manufacture purports it to be non-toxic. The tattoo stencils contain toluene. This chemical can potentially cause severe neurological harm. From the CDC's Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry; "Toluene should not be inhaled due to its health effects. Low to moderate levels can cause tiredness, confusion, weakness, drunken-type actions, memory loss, nausea, loss of appetite, and hearing and color vision loss. These symptoms usually disappear when exposure is stopped. Inhaling high levels of toluene in a short time may cause light-headedness, nausea, or sleepiness. It can also cause unconsciousness, and even death. Toluene may negatively affect kidney function."The toy has been identified by a number of consumer protection groups as dangerous and regularly shows up on "Dangerous Christmas Toys" lists. The only reason I'm writing this is because so many of the other reviewers are praising this as such a wonderful toy without understanding the contents of the stencils.I wrote a similar review of this toy a few years ago and noticed it was deleted almost immediately; suspect the same fate will happen to this version.
