MINKA-AIREF845-DK Light Wave 44" Ceiling Fan with LED Light in Distressed Koa with Remote and Additional Wall Control

I started with one of these and loved it so much, I ordered 3 more for two other bedrooms and our kitchen. They are solid quality. When I asked our electrician to install the first one, he thought it was a just a run-of-the-mill fan. He was very impressed by the quality and the look of the fan. I love that the light is enclosed so dust doesn’t get inside. I love the Koa wood - gives it a very modern and sleek look. We are using the remote controls on the wall instead of wiring into the switch. Works great. The fan moves air like nobody’s business. Way more air movement than the old fans that were bigger and clunkier! They are also super quiet. Don’t hesitate to buy one.

Recently purchased this fan (distressed koa) for a bedroom. Installation was easy and the fan worked so well that we purchased a second fan in white for the office. Fans are beautiful and we get multiple compliments on them. We have 3 Minka-Aire fans in total. Remotes can be programmed on different frequencies so they do not interfere with each other. Fan blades come weighed and balanced so the fans are extremely quite even on higher speeds. LED light is bright and lights the room well. LED light is also dimmable and adjusts to your preference. Happy with the purchase. Would purchase again.

This fan is so quiet that we forget it's on sometimes. Though the volume does pick up at higher speed, it is the quietest of all our ceiling fans. The light adjustments are a bit tricky, but the light itself is bright without being harsh. We love the design.

While we love this fan, the light switch has never worked properly since installation. You turn it on and then when you try to turn it off, it turns back on, repeatedly. When trying to get support here through Amazon, you only get options of things to try. There is no option for support from Minka-Aire.

The fan is wonderful piece, but I needed to hire an electrician to install it. When he came to install it, it was only then that we realized that the piece was missing, and it was too late to return it. So I paid for something that wasn't there. Very regrettable. Check all pieces in the box immediately.

This brand is always our go to. Nice fans, good quality and easy to install.

The media could not be loaded. This is a 5 star fan with 5 star fan control and 2 star light control. The fan is sleek and has a mid century modern vibe, which looks great in our old early 1900s home. The "wood grain" looks very authentic and matches our wood trim and floors.The fan is very quiet on low and medium speeds and just barely noticeable on high. Even on low it moves a good amount of air. This unit is in the bedroom so low is perfect for sleeping and providing a gentle breeze of refreshed air circulation.The light on the fan has a good temperature color (not too warm nor cool) and can be dimmed gradually from 100% down to prob 10%. The unit comes with both a wall switch and remote which is handy but the light control is lacking. The fan is easily switched on and off and between the 3 speeds. To reverse the direction one must flip the switch on the fan itself, this cannot be done from the remote or wall- pretty standard and not a big deal is easy to access.My main gripe and reason for not giving this a 5 star review is the light control. While it's easily switched on and off, and the light memory goes back to previous light brightness when switched back on from off, the remote and wall switch only allow for the light to cycle from 100% down to lowest (let's call it 10%) then back up to 100%. THERE IS NO UP OR DOWN button for dimming controls, just one "down button" (that looks like 2 buttons in one) that cycles between the settings. If you're light is at 50% dimness and went there from 100% (ie going down) a press of the button will take it to 10% before going back up to 100%. So if your light is at 70% and you want to go to 100% (but it's on the way down) you have to got to 10% first then back up. At night if i turn on the light i don't necessarily want to go up to100% to go dimmer if it's in the up cycle... I realize this seems petty but it's just annoying enough to make me hope they will update the controls for future owners and hopefully one day i can replace my remote and switch with one that has a true directional dimmer with an up and a down button (which they obviously have based on picture provided in the user manual, just not provided with this model??). Really don't understand this design aspect it just seems like the only flaw of this otherwise great fan. I would still recommended unless you have serious disdain for poorly designed electronic controls which i apparently have a borderline case of!!Thanks in advance to Minka-Aire for fixing this and sending the improved remote and wall switch my way when you do.
