Ride a Purple Pelican (Mulberry Books)

Bought this for my daughter 33 years and she can still recite almost all of the poems. Was delighted to find it for my new granddaughter. Funny, nonsensical, with delightful illustrations, it’s a poetry book we’ve never gotten tired of it!

My daughter loved this book as a child. Many of the poems became part of our family routine, we would recite them often. The hardcover we had was damaged by water, so I ordered the paperback. Now my grandchildren love it, too.

It was a gift

This book has been one of the favorites for my eight grandchildren! Even though several are in their 20s now, I know they could still recite most of the poems! So fun to read to them, and have them recite it with you. I have now bought it for our first great grand child, and can’t wait to read it to him. I also have bought many for gifts. It is so sing-songy, and kids love that!

I'd never heard of it and bought it just because I was tired of reading Mother Goose rhymes. It's filled with fun, silly rhymes that my kid absolutely adores.

I loved these poems as a child and now I love reading them with my son.

It's an old book, but it's imaginative in a way that feels very fresh. The writing and illustrations are just fantastic. My husband and I always look forward to this title coming up in our rotation.
