Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn -- The Art of Eorzea -Another Dawn-

Beautiful Final Fantasy XIV artwork
I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan and enjoyed XIV while I played it (don't have time anymore unfortunately) and loved the world they had created. This book has beautiful concept art and final images that are so enjoyable to look at. If you like these types of books and the game, I definitely recommend this. Price is very reasonable for the size of it. It even has a fairly sturdy clear dust cover that makes it pseudo hard back like and protects it very well. I plan to get the other books for all the DLCs as well

Fantastic collection of a huge game
A pretty comprehensive look of the game including all the races, enemies, major areas, armor sets, weapons, concept art, and marketing material. I love FF artwork and this book only reinforces that. With pretty much zero in-game renders, almost everything is finalized drawings and artwork. I usually really want concepts and such but for a huge MMO I don't really care too much (I just hate when artbooks are just collections of things you can see in game). There is also just a wide array of things anyway that the lineup of weapons or armor is nearly the same as a concept art spread. The finalized artwork is well balanced with analogous detail sketches next to the colored finished drawings. Square Enix also does a great job of having a sketch portion in their books so there is a great 30ish page spread of pencil sketches. A lot of the marketing and image art are group pictures which makes sense for an MMO, but much of it is laying out the feel of the game as described in the comments, and it definitely works. You can get the vibe and direction they were going for by the initial pages. I couldn't even specify my favorite portion of the book since it is all equally good, but I'd say I lean towards armor. The construction and layout of the book are very well done. They do a fantastic job of fitting as much onto every page without feeling like too much to look at. The solid black and wispy blue sketch artwork on the cover with a transparent guard is very unique.I love the commentary as a lot of it relates to the nuance between "A Realm Reborn" and the original release. They also do a great job of discussing a lot of directions they were going for many of the designs.I would highly recommend this book to any fan of FFXIV, FF in general, people who play games, artwork enthusiasts, or anyone that likes nice coffee table books. I've been holding back on getting any of the FFXIV artbooks because I KNEW it would make me want to get all of them, and there are a lot. Mark my words, I will definitely get more.

Amazing quality. Beautiful art!
The media could not be loaded. I absolutely adore this. I've been collecting all of the ffxiv art books and encyclopedias and ARR will always hold a special place in my heart. Eorzea isn't just another world, it is home. My home. Your home. Home to adventure and friendship, unbreakable bonds, the joy of a fleeting moment with strangers. If you're reading this, odds are eorzea is home to you, too. Buy this. Take a peice of it with you outside of eorzea. You won't regret it. The art is beautiful and well done, it's printed on thick high quality paper with high quality ink. It's worth every penny, and I'd honestly have paid more for it if i had to.No road is closed to those pure of heart.Woods will be done.

Excessively pretty without inducing cringe.
Never played the game but this thing is a fantastic artbook just for fantasy art's sake. It's massive and filled to the brim with content, from character designs, equipment, monsters, to environments. The drawings are obsessively detailed yet don't turn to gaudy mush because of the strong, distinct shapes underneath. Except maybe 7 costumes that look like they're hosting a bullet hell boss fight. That's a balancing act worth owning just for the raw skill and effort. The guy complaining about the binding isn't kidding, though. I don't know if the book can handle its own 300 heavy pages of overflowing content. Yet that doesn't stop it from being one of the best artbook deals I've come across. Should the spine give out, it'll leave one hell of a beautiful mess.

re-release code delivers an item to ALL characters unlike later codes
As someone who owns every other art book released to this day, I have to give high praises to this re-release. Everything about it is like the first book they released included the dual sleeves. The plastic with the logo is still present and something I wish they had continued on with the remainder of their art books. The art book code for the minion can be found in the back of the book, tucked behind the plastic cover for safekeeping, in case you're wondering AND it is like the older style of codes AKA available to ALL characters made on your account verses the latter style of one code per character. That was a nice bonus considering they could have easily grandfathered first edition owners. All of the notes are in English as this is an English re-release.Sadly, mine did arrive damaged despite the plastic cover because of Amazon delivery, but I felt it would have arrived in the same condition from the Square-Enix store as many of my books from them have before. Buying them from Amazon often ends up cheaper and arriving quicker so I'm all too happy to continue to do so here.

A must-have for XIV fans!
The detail here is astounding -- it's so neat to see all the concept sketches and designs for all the things we love in Eorzea. I especially liked the section with all the armor sets, because it inspired me on some glamour outfit ideas! There is some artist commentary as well, which can often be humorous and insightful. Very happy with this!

A total must have for FF XIV ARR lovers
A total must have for those who love the detailed characters, scenery and objects that are tied to the resurrection of Final Fantasy XIV MMO that is 2.0. You'll find plenty of of artwork regarding the jobs, classes of the game. Of course most iconic armors, weapons and gears are viewable inside with the sketches that have led to the result. Monsters and creatures that populate the regions are present too with a highlight on primals and dungeon bosses. Otherwise many pieces of advertisements and promotional events are present in their best form. By reading this artbook, one can only agree that this FF has the most talented art and world designers gathered around a project.

Beautiful
An excellent, high quality artbook. The captions are in both English and Japanese as others have said, so don't worry about that. It is a paperback, yes, but it's a very nice one, and it comes with a sort of clear plastic dust jacket that should keep it free from scratches and things. On the subject of the content you might be pleasantly surprised (or maybe disappointed) to know that there's not much "concept art" . What I mean is that instead of having twenty-five iterations of a design, you'll just have a few drawings of the the mostly finalized design showing different angles or whatnot, meaning they can cram in a lot more different stuff, unlike some artbooks where you'll have two pages showing subtle variations on somebody's head or something. Also, nearly all of it is in full colour and there's lots of interesting commentary from the artists. All in all, if you're interested in this book I'd say get it: it's about as good as they come. The only downside is that there's three more FF XIV artbooks that I now feel compelled to buy as well.
