Astro Pneumatic ToolRN832 100-Piece 8-32 Steel Rivet Nuts

Astro Pneumatic Rivnut products are, in my opinion, the best.8-32 is about the smallest available size rivnut.This is probably dictated by the strength required for the mounting mandrel.In searching for 8-32 rivnuts, I noticed that several reviewers of similar 8-32 products noted that the OD was larger than normal.I ordered from several listings on Amazon and discovered that the Astro Pneumatic 8-32 rivnuts are 6mm in diameter.The competition 8-32 diameter is 7mm.This makes for a much greater mounting force.If you've used rivnuts, you know that the mounting force can play havoc on the threads of the rivnut and/or the tool mandrel.Repeated use or carelessness in applying too much mounting force can even break the mandrel.So, the correct diameter rivnut is very important.Also, Astro Pneumatic replacement mandrels are readily available if you do need one.I routinely chase the threads of a mounted rivnut with a tap to insure thread integrity.

As there are a hundred different sellers of these pieces, I simply chose Astro Pneumatic, as they are the manufacturer of my beloved rivet nut setting tool.
