SteelSeries GameDAC - Certified Hi-Res gaming DAC and amp for Playstation 5, PS4 and PC

I managed to obtain a pair of Arctis Pro headphones at a reasonable price at the end of last year. It did not take long to realise that they sound awful without a half decent DAC to power them. I looked for a cheap option and purchased a Fiio E10K DAC and the transformation was amazing. However, I could not utilise the RGB and I had no access to the microphone (and every time I used the headset without the DAC it sounded terrible). 7 months later I was browsing and saw the GameDAC for a reasonable price on the Amazon Warehouse so I decided to take the plunge.Positives:Functionality - it is nice the have the equaliser and control of the volume and RGB on the desk. The DAC is well made and looks pleasant.Negatives - I paid £40 for the Fiio E10K and it sounds so much better than this DAC. I have read and read how the sound is amazing with Pros and the GameDAC, I think it is okay at best. Without the Hi Res Audio activated and DTS on the sound is hollow and you can really hear how low the bitrate is. With Hi Res Audio on you cannot access the gaming features of the DAC (gamechat for instance) but the sound is light years better than the standard mode.I am keeping the Gamedac, but only because I can have better sound than using just the chatmix dial that comes with the standard Arctis Pro Headset whilst using the mic. I also like to have access to the RGB features, but when I am playing single player games I will be using my Fiio DAC instead.I have also watched reviews where they have said that games do not utilise the Hi Res Audio feature. In my experience games sound so much better with Hi Res activated and I could not envision myself using the DAC in gaming mode, ever.I recommend this DAC if you would like to utilise the features of your Arctis Pro Headset. If you have any other headset I would recommend that you pick another brand (I hear that the Schitt Magni 3 is a good choice or i guarantee you will not be disappointed with a Fiio DAC).

It broke in 6 weeks the knob\dial doesnt move correctly impossible to set the equaliser levels now. Couldnt get it repaired , so i rang Amazon they hung the phone up on me DIsgusting service. I shall never buy steel series again. If Amazon treat me that way again i shall never use Amazon again either.

Good product that gives extra sound ranges even for the arctis 5 also helps change frequency to get better sound ranges for such as footsteps over gunfire.Bad points having to unplug and replug after starting games for some reason also keeps getting a crackle sound with my own made frequency setup could be game but does happen every so so often

In my honest opinion if you want to get the most out of your headphones this dac is an absolute must

Absolutely transformed my SteelSeries Arctis 7 into a incredible audio experience and they were already a very good headset in their own right. Adjusted some equalizer settings for fps and the sound is immense. Highly recommended for serious gamers.
