love these kayaks. for the money these are well worth it very stable and easy to maneuver they track very well. no issues with being tippy or feeling too close to the water surface. well constructed for the price and light enough to carry to the waters edge if needed. would be nice if they had a few rings to clip things to, but is not a big deal. we bought 2 10 footers for a 62 year old grandma and her 11 year old grandson. Recommend these for all ages and all levels of boaters

This is my first time ever owning a kayak and pretty much getting into using them as well. It was really easy to handle. It rides and turns really smooth from what I could tell. The shipping was great, it arrived on the scheduled time and had zero damage. Would buy again and definitely recommend for anyone who knows nothing about kayaking like myself!

What a fantastic tracking, stable kayak. It isn't the fastest thing in the world but for a mid entry level fishing kayak this thing is the best. Perception is super high quality. I would recommend this to everyone. As a side note...You MUST buy the Perception rod holder inserts if you plan to fish from this thing. They really improve the rod holders.

First, I bought the tandem one from REI as they had it in stock locally. I like the tandem one and would have given that one 5 starts. For this one I was very disappointed when I received it the nose of the kayak had been pushed in completely. I did not check under the plastic wrap and when I did was very disappointed. The foot pegs were not great and one of them would not even stay where it was placed. I am hoping I just got a very damaged unit and the next one will be good from the foot pegs and the front-end. I will post another review as soon as I get the new one next week.

Going down the river and in the lake

I loved this kayak at first but have had multiple mechanical issues with extended use. Pedals began to wobble and work loose, causing threads to strip, etc. I had to order new parts. Also, the bracket that holds the pin that keeps the propeller shaft in place works loose, causing the pedals to swing out of place. That bracket can be tightened back in place but it's a hassle when you are in the ocean fighting current. Rudder cables stretch and require adjustment frequently. I still use it a lot but carry a bunch of tools with me every time out.

they need replaced allot. The newer Pescador seats are a much better bench type seat. Although they moved the storage holes, the Pescador 10ft is a great choice. Keep in mind the structure of the seat is all plastic. If your a 200lbs person and stretch back ......it will break and never readjust. I've replace 4 in two years.
