CRKT Sweet K.I.S.S Tanto Fixed Blade Knife with Sheath, Plain Edge 2356, Gray - Fixed Plain Edge

I came across this knife when searching for fixed blade knives that I could easily and discreetly carry while wearing a suit. I decided that the best method of carry would be wearing the knife around my neck behind my tie. After seeing Ed Halligan carry this knife in the very same manner, I knew this was the knife I was looking for.The knife fits perfectly behind a necktie. I had to change out the included cord for some thinner nylon cord in order to get it to fit underneath my collar. The cord that is included is very strong and would work for everything except fitting under a dress shirt collar without showing.The knife itself is extremely versatile. Unlike many other tanto blades, this one was designed for functionality, rather than being a "tacticool" display knife. It has a 4 inch blade with a 1/8 inch thick spine and sharp tip. A blade this size with such a thick spine and full tang construction really feels indestructible. It would make a very effective self defense weapon as well as an everyday tool. The blade's edge has a slight up-swept curve to it, which I find makes it easier to sharpen than the straight or re-curve tanto blades so common these days.The handle scales have a nice texture, but the plastic material feels cheap. I know this knife was meant to be an affordable every day carry, but if CRKT used G10 for the scales this would be a first class neck knife.The sheath is well designed for concealment. Staying true to the K.I.S.S. concept it is very simple. There are three holes to pass cord through enabling the knife to be worn around the neck or on a belt. Keep in mind that this was designed as a neck knife so if you try to make a belt loop by passing the cord through the holes in the sheath, it might not be very stable. I noticed that the two bottom holes were just a few millimeters short from fitting onto a Tek-Lok. If CRKT were to slightly redesign this sheath to fit a Tek-Lok, it would greatly expand the versatility of this well designed blade.

This is a very well made knife, exceptional quality. I was looking for a nice fixed blade knife that was small enough to comfortably carry in my waistband. This knife fits the bill perfectly. It appears to be very well made, and it comes very sharp. The hollow grind blade profile cuts very nicely. I haven't owned the knife long enough to know how well it will retain an edge, but I suspect it will perform well. I sharpen my knives fairly regularly, so edge retention isn't a particular concern. I knew that this knife was somewhat smaller, but I was surprised when I actually saw it. The grip is very small, but the knife is exactly the size it needs to be for it's designed role. Men's size medium gloves fit me very well, and I like the way this knife fits in my hand. If my hands were any larger, it might be a little on the small side. In the interest of concealability, this knife does not have a finger guard, so you need to be mindful that your hand doesn't slip over the blade. The included sheath is nice, it has a good level of retention, I'm just not completely satisfied with the tether method of attaching it to a belt loop. I figure I'll either make a kydex holster with a clip to hold it to my waistband, or add a clip to the factory one. I'm very satisfied with the knife, it's very high quality at this price point. I'm sure that it will deliver a long service life so long as it isn't used as a bashing or prying implement. It's an excellent slicer, but I'd look elsewhere for a basher or a pry-bar.

I have nothing but good things to say about this knife! It came shaving sharp and I'm happy to say it stays in the sheath quite well. I took the end of the lanyard and dropped the knife in the sheath and it never fell out. There is a tiny bit of play in the sheath but nothing to worry about. If I'm in basketball shorts I wear it around my neck under my shirt and it shows a little considering I have a belly but I also wear my keys on a lanyard over my shirt so it's no big deal. If I'm wearing shorts or pants with belt loops I wear it just like you'd wear CRKTs Obake and it doesn't show at all. The most comfortable way I found wear it is tucked in my pants with a shirt covering it. I took off the little leather bit at the end bc it was kinda useless. Again it's a great little EDC knife and I take it with me everywhere

This was the first neck knife that I ever purchased, so I really didn't know what to expect. The knife came sharp ( sharp enough to shave the hair off of my arm.) At 2.3 ounces the knife is nice and light and It has a pretty thick blade at .15 inches. It has a full tang blade with slim glass- filled nylon handle scales that would probably work well with a paracord wrap. The blade thickness continues almost to the tip, making the point of the knife strong but not very sharp.This is definitely a blade made for slashing. Came with a cord for neck carry with a polypropylene sheath. The short leather lanyard was really not useful, so I took it off. I gave it an overall rating of four because of the thin and cheap sheath and the lack of a belt clip.

Must confess ,when i ordered this knife it was like sex. I knew i was gonna like it before i ever got it !!! Im a loyal CRKT fan . Not exactly sure how many ive owned over the years and i havent been disappointed once!! This little blade is no exception,it does exactly what it was bought for. It gives me piece of mind. So for less than $20 bucks i have a tool that is with me and i am not afraid to bet my life on if the situation called for it. Thank you!!

Very nice neck knife that came with a shaving sharp edge out of the box. The sheath was extremely tight at first but loosened up with a few draws. It still retains the knife securely. The scales are plastic and were slightly proud of the tang but a couple of minutes work with another sharp knife shaved them down flush. The biggest minus is the lack of traction but that can be overcome with proper user technique or a little DIY modification.

I like CRKT produccts, they are reasonable and have alwaays been a good value and quality. I like this knife but would like a small gaurd to help protect your hand, but it needs to be a small gaurd. Also, I would like a slightly thicker grip, not much but just a little more but for the money otherwise would not change a thing.
