Kids love it!
Got this for my 10 and 8 year old. Takes some practice, but they have been playing with it for hours. A silicone mate mat and book is a must . It’s sold separately, but makes it so much easier. Definitely worth the money.

Not super durable
My daughter enjoys using it, and it's good for very rudimentary stuff. That said, after a limited amount of use, the reverse button stopped working, so you can't extract the remaining filament as intended. Would love to know if there's a warranty/service available on these, but didn't see anything.Update Jan 6Within a few days of my review, the seller reached out and offered a refund. Great customer service, and helps make right some of my concerns. Will strongly consider giving it a second go. Updated rating to 3 stars based on customer service

Good quality for money, beginner friendly, not expensive to maintain "ink"
We ordered a pair of these as a Christmas gift for kids, 5 year old girl and a 7 year old boy respectively. They come in a sturdy box which is good as a long term storage option. The instructions about the heating options were precise. One note of warning for any parent out there that consider buying any of these products in general:Unlike most of the advertisements and listings which show perpendicular construction using 3d pens, note that it will be tough in the beginning to make such creations. The pens need a considerable amount of patience and experience to use properly and in the beginning it will be wobbly scribbly horizontal creations. The vertical drawing can be attained using anchor points, such as the corner of a book or playdoh support pillars. Please understand this before you buy in terms of expectations. In terms of safety, the tip of the pen gets burning hot and touching this part will cause a burning feeling, but nothing that would be considered a safety hazard. Once the kid touches the area and feels the heat, next time they will be more careful and this will stop being an issue. In terms of ease of use, loading and unloading the cartridges is a breeze and my kids are able to do it themselves. Usually they need help to get started with a line or a shape and then they continue on their own. Surfaces with enough friction, such as a playdoh base or parchment paper is good so that the melted "ink" can get a "hold" of a surface.Overall, they spent many many hours making different shapes like wearable glasses.I highly recommend this product due to its price point as an entry into the 3d printing world. There are much more sophisticated, accurate and better models out there with much higher prices, but as a gift to kids, this is no brainer.

Learning curve
There is definitely a learning curve to using a 3D pen. Adjust heat as needed. Adjust output speed as needed. Adjust again. Adjust again. Etc. Etc. It is harder than it looks. My 12 year old likes it, but he looses interest when it continues to be wobbly and doesn't come out right. I have a steadier hand than him, and I struggled more than expected as well. We've never used a 3D pen, so we have nothing to compare it to. Is this the norm for all 3D pens? Or is this learning curve particular to THIS pen? I don't know. It works, and it's sort of cool. But it requires practice.

Meh
Eh.. I got this for my 5 year old with pipe dreams of making airplanes and bikes and all sorts of rad stuff. Maybe with hundreds of hours of practice you could make something that doesn't look ultra crappy. I HAVE found it useful for plastic welding like reattaching broken pieces off other toys though. He had a handlebar break on a plastic toy motorcycle and we reattached it and secured it using this pen. As for free-form creating stuff, don't get your hopes up. It seems to be of good quality and so far as 3D pens go, it's a good one.. It's just that the entire 3D pen concept isn't exactly good. The best thing I as adult have been able to make is a green top hat for an action figure for Saint Patrick's Day. See photo, feel free to laugh, you'll get it once you try for yourself. Price isn't bad really, does provide some useful entertainment time, just don't get your kid's hopes up with fake youtube videos.

Fantastic, cheap printer pen, just know what you are getting
I've had a bunch of these before and use them for all sorts of crafting and just fixing stuff up around the house. Just got this one in the mail yesterday as the wiring in my old was was starting to fail and you can feel they made significant upgrades. The motor is smoother, the digital temperature display is an improvement over the older switch-under-a-flap models, and...well that's about it. This is a very simple and cheap tool after all.But the people complaining about false advertising are also correct. These things will *not* have you drawing in 3d or building fantastic figurines without a tremendous amount of time investment. They are a hot glue gun with a motor. Really useful for generic crafting and around-the-house needs where you just need to form a hunk of plastic around stuff. Also really useful if you are into 3d printing and want to get intimately familiar with the properties of different types of wires.I wish they just shipped this with TPU wire as that's what I end up using most of the time. PLA is just not very useful with these things.

Spits out warm plastic as advertised. It’s up to you to make something not too ugly with it :-)
Might be just my 2 left hands, with a lot of practice (and PLA) you can make something remotely similar to what you intended to make. The kids love it, so the overall mission is a success :-)

My 10 Year Old Niece Loves It
I bought this for my 10 year old niece for her birthday mid March. It's now June 6th and it's still working great. She's been using it a lot lately and getting pretty creative with it. Theres definely a learning curve to it and you're not going to make masterpieces with this thing, but its fun and a good creative outlet for kids who like art. I was a little worried because every 3D pen on Amazon had a lot of bad reviews, including this one, but so far so good. Its still working and she's enjoying it and that's all that matters :) Also it came with a lot of filament which is really nice.

Don’t buy it!
I am not sure how it has got 4 star reviews. I can’t even put 1. There was no adaptor in the box. It says 10 colours of filament. I have received only 3. I am going to have to return it. This is just robbery!

El botón para que avance el filamento se descompuso el primer día de uso. Quedó hundido.
