Tremendous storyline.
I've just spent an excellent day reading an amazing story. This author did a great job of telling the story of PTSD and how it affects the lives of our returning military personnel. The families, wives, lovers, partners, all feel the results of those suffering from war wounds whether physical, emotional or mental. Thank God there are medical personnel that can help those that are willing to seek the help. Leah has worked for her father's firm, taken on great projects and in the end, she takes a mandatory sabbatical leave to rest. While on the long vacated family ranch, she meets old friends, neighbors and begins to see the beautiful Montana sky once again. Luke was an older classmate as they grew up and he teased her all the time but now he sees her in a different light. This storyline talks realistically how not only marriages are ruined by PTSD, violent behavior can make people scared and afraid of relationships. This being the holidays, I needed this book to remind me of how military events affect many people in many lives. This is a wonderfully told story and I loved every moment of it. Congratulations on writing such a meaningful book. I loved it!

A Tortured Soul
Luke, a war veteran with PTSD goes home to his family's ranch in Laurel Creek, Montana after one too many violent incidents. Leah, an intense, very successful executive in her father's company in Billings is told to take a six month sabbatical to chill and tend to the affairs involving her family's ranch in Laurel Creek, Montana. Luke's and Leah's ranches border each other and their families go way back, but Luke and Leah do not have a very friendly childhood history. When issues involving their ranches bring them in contact with each other, neither is interested in any type of relationship. Even with their stubborn and private personalities, they somehow find a spark that neither one is able to deny but that neither wants. Can they help each other and at the same time find happiness along the way? You'll have to read this book to find out. There were so many emotions involved while reading this story, which I read in two days because I just didn't want to stop. I really felt for these characters. Now I'm very much looking forward to the next book in the series, which will feature Luke's cousin Taylor, who was an important part of Luke's story.

An engaging read
I found this book very entertaining and loved the characters. I don't often read contemporaries, but had to pick it up since the hero is a war veteran with PTSD. As a veteran myself, and having worked in the Army as a nurse, this is a topic near and dear to my heart, so any book that helps bring awareness is of automatic interest. The book is well written, though I did experience a couple instances of confusion where there was a typo or other grammatical glitch, but these were extremely few so I didn't judge too harshly on it. The steam level is high, which I have no problems with, I could have done without some of the language in the love scenes, but this is personal preference and again I didn't judge too harshly on it. Overall I thought the premise was good, characters engaging, and I'm looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

Captivating!!
This story is full of hope and redemption while also being heartwrenching! Luke is a former military man suffering from PTSD. What really captivated me was the way author was able to describe Luke's PTSD episodes and make you feel like you were right there watching and wanting to reach out and help. That really touched my heart. Leah, is a women in her 40's who is strong, independent and not sure where her life is heading or if she really likes what she sees ahead for herself. She was very relatable to me because I've been there. These two were perfect for each other! Can't wait to read the next book in the series!!

When you want "more" in your romance
I will admit it with hand raised. I bought this story for the cover. When the author introduced the "cover model" on her FB page I was interested. Maybe because I'm older and I want a bit more than the hunky guy with his shirt off on the cover, or I really liked that she knows him! The fact that I loved this story of Luke and his childhood nemesis, Leah, proves that this author knows how to write romance. I didn't have any doubt since I've read her off and on for years. But the punch behind this book got me, and now I'm going to have to binge her again.

Jaded: Luke
Luke has PTSD and he has it bad. After years of roaming and getting in and out of trouble, he is forced to go home to the ranch. This is a very good story about this man's PTSD and how it rules his life until he finally is forced to see yet another psychiatrist, this one being better at helping Luke with his demons. Of course, during all the other goings on, Luke is in a romance.I would definitely recommend this book to others.

Touching
This was an amazing thought provoking book. You never know what someone is struggling with and how it can affect so many people. Hildie proved this statement in so many ways. I truly can't wait to see what else she will bring us in the rest of this series. Two people broken in different ways but trying to find their way together. I especially enjoyed the couple is closer to my age. Hildie has hit on a winner.

Contents under pressure...I mean characters
Luke Hamilton is wound up tight and heading home to start over and help out his brother on the ranch. This isn"t what he wanted but life got interesting when the bossy girl next door makes trouble. He isn't looking for a relationship. Love is in the air.
