Deshalb Daumen komplett runter!

The weak cell.
One problem with sets of rechargeables is nearly always one weak cell amongst the four that does not hold its charge for long.My sophisticated battery tester, and other chargers with diagnostic and discharge - recharge function can ease some issues. Evaluating a set takes time which is the reason for my delayed. response. This is a real bug-bear when using sets of four in portable flash guns.I have had over two decades of experience with rechargeable AAA and AAA cells and switched to Ansmann back in the early noughties (with 2200 and then 2400 mAh - greenish finish) on grounds of improved reliability. However on switching to later 2700 and then 2800 mAh types I am experiencing weak cells in any batch of four. The 2700s I purchased around the start of this decade are now not that reliable when it comes to holding charge.I purchased three sets of 2800 mAh a couple of years back (one with an Ansmann Photocam III charger) and had issues with weak cells recently so purchased another three sets just this last month, one set again with an Ansmann Photocam III charger. I have three other Ansmann chargers of different types, one a rapid Digispeed 4, one an Ansmann Powerline 4 (which also has a discharge - recharge function) and an Ansmann energy 4 which has cell diagnostic feature.I have also used other manufactures cells of similar charge values and these suffer from similar inconsistencies.I imagine a factory somewhere, probably China, churning these out and simply putting different makers labelling on from one week to the next.

Don't last.
I four of these to use in in a reasonably powerful LED cycle light. Due to the price I paid (and also using an Ansmann branded battery charger) I was hoping to be able to move away from alkaline batteries and save a few quid in the long run as well as not have to consume so many batteries. The problem for me is that they haven't lasted. They never seemed to have much capacity in the first place (not as much as I expected anyway), but after only a few charge cycles (with a charger from the same manufacturer) they don't seem to charge at all. I put them in flat (the voltage on a multimeter reads around 0.8v) then after only a few minutes in the charger there's a steady green light (indicating full charge and with the battery's voltage now reading 1.3v). As you would expect if they state full charge after about 3 minutes, they don't last long at all afterwards.A similar thing also happened with some Ansmann AAAs I bought too, so I no longer trust the brand. If they'd been cheap batteries, I wouldn't mind so much, but I paid extra hoping for something decent. I've been sorely disappointed.

Not for Apple keyboards
Disliked as once charged these batteries were ever so slightly too chubby to fit into an Apple keyboard. The coating gets screamed and if I pushed them in I’d never get them out. Real pain as they fit inside everything else built to take them. The Apple keyboard battery ‘tube’ is just machined in such as way the tolerance is too low to accept. Oh well. I’ll have to use in other items and simply swap the batteries over.
