We have been using single use lighters for various kitchen and BBQ purposes and I finally got tired of having to buy more, seems like so much waste to me. This is a Great alternative to single use lighters. This is a hefty, solid feeling torch style lighter that is refillable. It did not come pre-filled, I suppose they couldn't ship it full (?). Not an issue - just something to be aware of. We had a can of butane for my hubby's cigar lighters so he just filled this lil guy up and was al ready to go. It is torch style so you get a nice strong blue flame that will not flicker out in wind.

This is strong and easy to use. Just add butane fluid and you are ready to go. It’s refillable so it will last longer than the other lighters. It also burns a lot hotter than regular lighters. The fact that is flexible makes it perfect to fit into tight spaces like grills and even candles. The material is all steel and it does get hot after using it for a while so be careful. Does not have a safety lock so please keep it away from children. The bottom has the control knob for the intensity of the flame. It turned on right away everytime I pressed it. Good quality. These torch lighters are better for me than a regular lighter. They light up quicker and last longer. Very happy with this find.

The flame on this is great - like a torch, not the wimpy flame found in cheap multi-purpose/utility lighters. As can be seen in the accompanying photos, the flame can be adjusted from barely there to over 2" and is well defined, with an optimal air/fuel mixture as shown by the color. This makes it much more effective for the primary purpose for which I got it: starting campfires. It also means that in a pinch, I could use it to finish off a crème brûlée.It was easy to fill with butane, and there is a window that allows you to easily see the remaining fuel level.Fit and finish is good, and the weight feels good in the hand.The flexible neck works well. It is easy to adjust, but stays in position.It comes with a user manual which is written in clear (for the most part) English, as well as German.But, there are some issues which I felt warranted deducting a couple of stars:It will not always light with the automatic lighter button. This is most evident if the flame is turned to full high. Many times I needed to have it set near minimum in order for it to light. I then had to twist the adjustment knob to increase the flame to the desired level while continuing to hold the spring-loaded slide switch, since it only stays on while the switch is held. Well, sort of... While the flame only will stay lit as long as the button is held, when you release it, it will die down, but it doesn’t shut off immediately. Rather, it takes a few seconds before it totally shuts off. If you read the instructions, which clearly say to turn the adjustment knob on the bottom of the lighter to the lowest setting before releasing the switch, it goes out quicker, but even then, the flame will linger for a while.Most concerning, there is no safety interlock for the igniter/on-button, so it needs to be carefully stored to avoid inadvertent release of the butane and possible inadvertent ignition. This does make it more convenient to light compared to devices with a safety interlock, but I do consider this to be a potentially significant safety issue, especially since the adjustment knob doesn't actually turn off the fuel flow even at its lowest setting. I thought ths would be useful. It isn’t.I fueled it, and used it twice, immediately after filling. Then, it leaked all of the butane overnight.I think it’s dog exhaust.Plainly not worth purchasing.

When I ordered this, I had to remember to get some butane to fill it. The flame on this is so much larger and more powerful than the standard lighter. I saw this used in a video for a stovetop grill pan and I immediately ordered one for mine. It lights the wood chips much faster. I will also use this in my grill box. It helps to get the wood chips going much faster than waiting for the heat of the charcoal. Great tool for grilling and stovetop cooking!

I just got out my bottle of Colibri butane and went to fill this lighter up. Interestingly, I didn't get any of the usual kickback of butane, and I wasn't able to tell at all if there was any flow into the lighter. I also can't see any readout in the butane level window, but that could just be my eyesight (I'm post-surgery as of the time of this review). Nevertheless, to be sure it would get primed, I cranked up the flow level and lit it up, and what came out was a jet flame that was visibly about three inches long, with a potentially longer part that was not visible. Dialing the flow fully the other way still gave me about 3/4 inches of flame. In either case, the flame still kept going for a second or two after I deactivated the lighter; I think this is due to the neck discharging any remaining gas, and therefore by design. The goose neck flexes as expected. The lighter is comfy and lightweight in the hand. It's a good buy, I think.

bought it for camping and it broke after first use. Seal at bottom failed and everything leaked out. I tried to refill and got sprayed with butane. People are right though, it was a really nice flame :(

Das Feuerzeug macht hinsichtlich Verarbeitung und Haptik einen guten Eindruck. Achtung: es ist nicht mit Gas gefüllt!!!!!!! Die Zündung braucht, zumindest bei mir, immer 2-3 Klicks. Die Flamme ist wie man sie erwartet, bei mir Max 5-6 cm lang. Insgesamt für diesen Preis absolut zu empfehlen.

Finalmente l ho trovato! … ne troppo lungo nè troppo corto!! E soprattutto antivento!

C'est un produit de qualité, mais il aurait été judicieux de préciser qu'il fallait aussi acheter une recharge de gaz, ou la proposer en complément.

I ordered this for my Fiancée to help pop any bubbles in her resin work:- The lighter came nicely boxed and with no lighter fuel which is a good thing. It also came with some decent instructions which are easy to follow. - Filling it up is a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it gets easy. It's also made easier by the little window which means you can see how much fuel is in there. - You can adjust the ferocity of the flame by twisting the end. Don't worry it doesn't get too hot and it's easy to work. - Sometimes, the lighter won't light when on the highest setting. So I have to twist it down to its lowest then ignite it. It then works well. - To ignite, it has a slider on the handle which you have to slide up and hold up to keep alight. - Extinguishing isn't instant and takes a few seconds to go out. This is ok but a slight safety concern. - The flame is useful for popping resin bubbles without using a heat gun and has made it easier for my Fiancée. - The flexible nozzle is excellent for using this with crafts.I would recommend this actually. It's a decent lighter and useful for resin in particular.

Ich habe mir dieses Feuerzeug gekauft und bei Epoxidharz die Bläschen aus dem Material zu holen. Es ist ein sehr gutes Feuerzeug, es funktioniert einwandfrei, es lässt sich leicht wieder füllen und die spitze wird nicht schwarz und verbrennt nicht. Sollte es mal kaputt gehen, werde ich mich gerne dafür wieder entscheiden.
