Great item if you need the covered space.
Cover is well built and very easy to install in a 2016 Tacoma. Fits perfectly and looks very finished in use.Of course, it is not 100% waterproof, but should do the job very well unless you have something extremely sensitive to water on the floor of the truck bed, i.e. cardboard boxes that might soak up any of the small puddles that eventually get into the truck bed. A bed mat and/or plastic containers should mitigate most of the risk.I am disappointed in the security of the latch design. Of course, no bed cover can resist a determined thief with a prybar or other tools. But a crook with a little initiative could easily design a way to reach in and unlatch the wire pull openers with very little effort. There are workarounds on the internet to make the cover and latches more secure, but due to the lightweight materials, and compact design for folding, those options are somewhat limited. Other fixes are more secure, but interfere with the convenience of using the cover.None of these concerns are a dealbreaker. I am very happy with the cover and I'm sure I'll get many years of use from it.

Great cover. When you need it, its there sturdy and flush to the truck. When you need the bed it rolls up easily and out of the way. Its pretty easy to install. It fit my 2021 tacoma perfectly. Also i have to give a shout out to BAK, Real Truck, truck hero. Great customer service

Expensive but looks nice
While I think the backflip mx4 is a good top, looks nice, and one of the better ones to get, it is very over priced for what you get. On receiving It, i noticed the designs was just average and easy to break and this is not good for a truck. The rails were fragile and the rubber seal on receiving was twisted and off the rails and stuck to the plastic wrap. Has to get a new one. One of end caps broken and very fragile. The top clips were cheap and broken when attaching. Be careful on tightening. Be careful not to over tighten the truck bolts. Don’t follow the instructions for torques or you will strip the OEM bolts. The drain tubes don’t fit the Tacoma 1/4” holes and not going to drill them bigger. For the money, they should have made them fit. I noticed the backflip badge was crooked and had to get a new one. A workmanship issue. The customer service is good. Call. Emails are not answered very fast and details ignored that a d photo is needed. I saw on YouTube the top hard surface can be easily scratched so keep things off the top to avoid scratching. The bottom line: expensive, fragile, functional, hard to take completely off, but looks nice. Also, you loose a bit of the top bed width on opening since it has its sliding rail inside the trucks top walls. A safety note is never drive with the top open without being clipped in or the wind will trip it off.

Awesome Product
This is absolutely one of the best things that we have purchased. Easily to install if you get a professional to do it. I find that in most situations you just need to have a professional who knows and has installed many of these before.

Awesome Tonneau cover
I’ve had several different type of covers, and the Bak Bakflip MX4 is by far my favorite. Easy to install, and just looks great

Not worth the money for the Quality. Design issues need addressing.
Terrible quality control. Many of the weather strips were pulled off, misplaced, or damaged by BAK’s packaging method right out of the box. See image where seal is damaged - this was due to using a rubber band to hold portion of the assembly together for shipping. Some seals were cut the wrong length and needed trimming. Others looked like they had been cut by a 3 year old with a serrated knife.DESIGN: The overall product design is such that the weather strips will likely peel off in a few months of use due to the use of only adhesive and not mechanically sandwiching them using a plate and screws. This has already started and the top wasn’t even installed yet. (See picture). Another design flaw for the Tacoma model is the last 8 or 10 inches of the rail at the tailgate isn’t secured to anything. What I have found is that the latches will actually push the rail down rather than slide over it to lock when you close the top. This is another design flaw and should be addressed with additional support at the ends of the rails to ensure latching takes place and that the top will remain locked.Additional issue: The top had packaging foam spill from the self inflating bags while it Was still liquid. This adhered to the top at the time of shipping. I have yet to get that completely removed from the top.It says proudly on the side of the box “MADE IN THE USA” - given the quality issues above, I would recommend BAK not to advertise this. I honestly expected this was made in China, given the poor fit and finish.Overall, for the cost, you are not getting the quality you would expect. I would not recommend this product.

Great design
Got this for my daughter's Tacoma as I love the ability to prop it up and utilize the full length of the bed without having to take it off. Shipped it to my daughter as a birthday gift and she had no trouble installing it after watching the video. Great product, well designed, excellent quality and build. Could have gotten a cheaper one but the design and sturdy build are worth it. I have a soft tonneau on my truck that I often have to take off to get to use the full bed, so I'm thinking to get one of these for myself now!

Customer service at it's finest.
Bought this tonneau cover back in 2019 and recently found the rubber seals between each panel shrunk exposing the seam and leaving it open for water penetration. Emailed the company and received a quick response (about half an hour) they stated it was out of the warranty time line, but they would honor the warranty anyway and will resend the entire cover minus the rails. Beyond excellent customer service. Highly recommend this company.

Great Product
Cover was fantastic and easy to install on my 2019 Tacoma, however the one error we made was when drilling holes to install the drain tube we drilled too deep and hit a fuel filler line. Take extra pro-cation or avoid this step if you feel incline, as no warning is clearly labeled on the instructions.But great product!
