I have ran K&N for year. Not sure what the difference is other than price.
Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong filter. Thought I had filtered results for my vehicle, but this did not fit my truck, so I did not get to use it, but out of the box looked, felt, and smelled like a K&N to me. I hate that I cannot find this filter for my truck. Was impressed with the quality and price.

Washable filters are worth the cost alone.
This filter already wins because it's washable, so even though it might cost 3x the Fram replacements but you also don't ever have to run to the parts store for a new filter either. There is a slight performance increase but nothing extreme, just seems like the engine is more eager and responsive but I'm prepared for that to be a placebo effect from expecting a difference.Overall, even if there wasn't a performance increase, I would recommend this filter to all Sonic owners with the factory air box.
