Best Word Book Ever Paperback – August 29, 2013

It was the original and that is what we wanted.

I bought this book 40 years ago for my children and they loved it. The illustrations are museum quality and so much fun for children. Now, I bought all 3 large hardcover Richard Scary books for my 2 grandchildren. Sadly, they are with their parents in Japan as my son is in the Airforce. However, I watch the 3-year-old lay on the floor, carefully turning the pages with awe in his eyes. Great teaching books!

18 month old daughter loves this book! It has SO many vocabulary words to learn and interesting things to look at. Well worth getting to boost speech and language skills.

Richard Scarry’s books are longtime favorites from not only my childhood, but those of my children and grandchildren. This is a sweet remembrance book that can be shared with generations to come. Nicely bound.

Great book for teaching a toddler to talk

This book was my son's favorite book to have read to him before nap time. I say read, but it's more of a picture book that sparks questions and conversations. He especially loved the pictures for Whisper and Shout and would point at them repeatedly so I would whisper the word whisper and shout the word shout. He found that to be hilarious. Two decades have passed and now my niece has given birth to her first child. I recently sent her this same book because I know she and her baby will enjoy it as much as my child and I did.

Love this book! Bought one for our children and our nephews. So many beautiful details on every page. Takes awhile to read each page because there is so much to look at. Really engages children and helps with reading, colors, etc. Also, the size of the book is nice and large, hardcover book, and good for ALL ages.

I'm so Glad this hasn't been zapped into the 21st century, my son Loved this book 40+ years ago and it's identical to the one he had then. (well the cover now has a white background, his had light blue...) He poured over every page and had to know every word that accompanies all of the adorable illustrations. I have always credited this book with his outstanding vocabulary as a toddler and his early ability to read. Every child should have this book by their 1st birthday!!
