Spelling for Minecrafters Grade 4

Great variety of spelling, grammar and writing activities. We use this book often for home learning. Covers a good variety of writing topics using fun minecraft characters. Love the colourful images and text.

Made learning a bit more interesting for someone who dislikes school!I’d love if there were higher grades (middle school) as well.

Let me preface this review.... we are first year homeschoolers.My 3rd grader has dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD. He is a seriously, reluctant reader, writer and speller because he struggles. HE LOVES MINECRAFT! It totally makes sense to combine his love with something he doesn't really enjoy all that much. Spelling for Minecrafters has been a life saver for us! We work in this workbook every other day to practice reading and spelling. This is helping to build his confidence, while also keeping him entertained.This is a winner in our homeschool, and we have purchased other Minecrafters workbooks Writing for Minecrafters and Math Word Problems for Minecrafters! I am a lifelong fan of this author and publisher! Many thanks from a tired mama of three! I purchased both Grade 3 and Grade 4 workbooks.Pros:Minecraft theme including pictures, words, character names, and ideasBuilds upon skillsColorfulGreat quality printed materialsVariety of subjects and grades for Minecrafters of all ages/skillsCons:Nothing that I can think of. I cannot sing enough praises for this workbook for my struggling speller.

I really expected this to be a more full spelling curriculum but it was just lacking. There are better resources free on the internet than you will find in this book. I bought one for the convenience of a curriculum that was pre-printed, but I would not consider this a curriculum. Some suggestions to the seller: Usually a student will use a spelling list for a week so each list should have at least 3 different activities that help the child practice all the words multiple times. The child will usually quiz on words either once a week or every other week. Periodically, there should be a review of random previously learned words to help the child retain them and move them to long-term memory. A curriculum workbook like this one should have a space for everything needed in the spelling curriculum for organization purposes. I would not buy from this seller again. One star for catching the interest of the child and one for providing words.
