The Climbing Tree

There are multiple messages of encouragement and creativity in this story - challenging oneself, imagining a future, appreciating nature and tackling changes - but what my granddaughter liked best about the book was that the heroine looked like her and had her adventuresome spirit! I felt warm and fuzzy reading it to her, especially at the end when Eleanor was her older self under the new tree. Beautiful story and illustrations!

I purchased this book for my nieces along with Virginia Loves Dogs by same author (Barbara Leary). They are both absolutely beautifully written with touching stories that are appropriate for children of any age. I would highly recommend this book as a memorable favorite.

"The Climbing Tree" is a delightful story of a child's imagination, adventurous spirit, and positivity. Eleanor is a character that all children can relate to. One day, she suddenly sees a tree in her back yard through new eyes and finds that if she works hard at it, she can tackle a new challenge: climbing a tree.The story is darling and the illustrations are beautiful. And that last page (!) Seeing Eleanor grown up will tug at your heartstrings!

This is another fun and brilliant story by Barbara Leary! Highly recommend for anyone with a kid or looking to buy a children's gift.
