Q: Is this necessary with the air force one system?

Not absolutely necessary but I would highly recommend. The normal coach notification is sometimes hard to see in your rear view camera.

Q: does this include the towed vehicle sending unit?

The package includes transmitter (for TOAD) and the receiver (for coach).

Q: does this product come with all parts needed for a complete brake light indicator install

I installed it taking off of the brake pedal indicator switch and have a toggle switch before the sender to have it only send when I want. Then the receiver plugs into the motorhome to tell us when it is braking. So, aside from the brake pedal switch, which your vehicle already has, and the the toggle switch everything you need is there.
