Jessica FletcherThe Fine Art of Murder (Murder, She Wrote, Book 36)

A fine mess of a book
While I always enjoy being with Jessica Fletcher, I found "The Fine Art of Murder" to be a disappointment, coming on the heels of the so-so caper, "Skating on Thin Ice." This latest adventure concerns art theft in Italy, which Jessica witnesses firsthand, and the murder of a wealthy man in Chicago, who happens to be the husband of Jessica's friend. (Just to warn the reader, the opening chapter is one of the most violent ever in a "Murder, She Wrote" book.) Marlise Morrison Simsbury, wife of the dead man, comes across as cold and flippant, hardly someone Jessica would want as a friend. I was led to believe the two tales would be connected in a clever way, but by the final chapters I was surprised to discover they weren't. The ending appeared to be tacked on at the last minute as though the author didn't know how to bring this story to its conclusion. Of all the "Murder, She Wrote" books I've read, "The Fine Art of Murder" was by far the most unsatisfying and confusing of all.

Murder She Wrote never disappoints.
The Fine Art of Murder is the first book of the series that I have read. I am a fan of the television show Murder She Wrote, but have never read any of the books. I was not disappointed with the story, the characters, or the mystery. It was everything that I expected from the TV series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to read more of the series.

Mysteries are great and it is fun to get a look at ...
Got started on the series rather late but have made up for late start. I am now reading book 40 in the series and am looking forward to more books and stories. Mysteries are great and it is fun to get a look at the various settings and life styles as we go along. I had enjoyed the TV aeries and have many of the seasons DVD. The books offer a more in depth look at solving the cases as well as more depth looks at the locations and characters. Love it all!

Love Jessica Fletcher
This series of books is definitely my favorite of all murder mystery series. I resisted for a long time, thinking it would be a repeat of the TV show, but they are not. I have read all of them (and there are more than 20) and they are all new and fresh. These books are extremely well written, light but challenging mysteries, not predictable. I get tired of the realism on TV (and of course I watch all the crime dramas and reality shows) and these books do not contain any sex or violence, blood or gore; but at the same time they are realistic, believable, and wonderful fun to read. I highly recommend this series of books.

Good price with fast Amazon Prime delivery.
I enjoy sending a book in the series to my 93 year old Mother. She enjoyed and still watches the series on TV. She enjoys reading and I enjoy sending to them to her. She has many now in the series and will be getting some more in the future.

Not the best
As usual a very entertaining mystery novel, but the part about the Italian adventure could have been avoided, because it isn't needed to solve the mystery; furthermore, being Italian, I can assure whoever travels to Italy that there is much more to see and to enjoy than Mafia, and that people are not killed in churches so frequently!!

Who can go wrong with Murder, She Wrote?
Jessica Fletcher is such a postive and kind character. I wonder how she always finds herself near a murder case, especially since she is a writer and not a detective. This book is easy to read, has interesting characters, and trying to figure out "who dun it" is challenging. It is user friendly and would be a good summer read, or really any time of the year. Get it and enjoy!

Very good read.
Very enjoyable. A more indepth plot here than most of the series (some may say far fetched -but isn't that the point!) and I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
