Typically overstated brightness
Very dim for what is supposed to be 5x Cree XM-L2 U2 chips. It was definitely not 5 times brighter than my Nitecore HC30 1000 Lumens CREE XM-L2 U2 LED dual-form headlamp bundled with Two EdisonBright CR123A Batteries , not even close.I like that it can take 26650s, and the construction seemed solid, but the brightness was lacking. Also my third mode was SOS, not a fast strobe.I also found the two brightness settings insufficient, there should have been a really low setting.

BRIGHT - heavy - has hotspot - extra O rings
Most powerful light I've owned. Except for the $700 lights, it's the brightest one on the dive. Not recommended for video due to hotspot. Don't look directly at it and don't aim it into another diver's eyes - even at distance. Good battery life but you MUST have a backup - you get bright light until you get zero light. Be aware that you may have to drop a couple pounds of weights as this thing is metal. I like that they use several "O" rings to seal it and I like that they included a second set.

functioned great. Great light spread and throw
Used it for the first dive down to 66m, functioned great. Great light spread and throw. make sure to seal it to max so it works. Just one dive though. will update you if any faltering within 6 months. Bought larger batteries for longer times (2x26650 4000 mah or so they claimed) . Make sure you remove the batteries when not in use as I lost a previous torch (not this brand) due to battery leaking. Is it necessary to keep 3 o-rings?? (appreciate your answers)

Promising and has heaps of potential to deliver
Used on first dive, got to 60', the light lense cavity filled with water. Just returned from dive trip 1 day over return policy date. The flash light is rated for 100M (330'). Pity as its very bright and seems great but its in the end a total let down. 4 September 2016, since making the first comment and review, the seller contacted me and offered a replacement or refund. I have received a replacement. I can say the unit is very promising and look forward to trying the unit in water at depth. The seller gets full marks for customer service and product care.

Great for lighting up a reef swim through or cave ...
Light is well made and puts out a tremendous amount of light. Great for lighting up a reef swim through or cave while daylight diving. As light is extreme it's best to use a lower lumen light for night dives as the amount of light the DV708 is too much for reef exploring but excellent when needed.

Great light
This light is a great bang for the buck. In low viz the low setting is more than enough and in great water the high works great. Good color and coverage. Don't get the batteries wet at all. I think my got ruined because of this.

Nope
Junk. Worked great for the first couple dives but now the switch is all wonky. Get what you pay for folks, if you want to do a night dive, don't trust junky safety equipment!!

Does not work underwater!
I rarely write very negative reviews, but this light did not perform. Batteries were fully charged and it was very bright, checked it again before entering the water, but it did not work under water and now does not work at all. Everything was sealed and no water was inside the light. I have no idea what happened, but the first dive with it was just past the time I am allowed to return the light. So for the night dive I used the backup light which was much less bright and only intended for backup since I had this new light!I have been looking for a way to contact the seller, but cannot seem to locate. If anyone else has info I would appreciate it!
