Another good book from O. Z.
I wish I met the author, sounds as if he had an interesting life as well. All the books by Mr. Whitehead are good, accurate and informative. The synopsis of the book is all in it's title, pen portraits of notable early western Baha'i women. One learns about the establishment and development of the Baha'i Faith in Europe and the USA in addition to these admirable deeds of the women themselves. There are a few chuckle worthy stories too. After reading about these women you realize the true goal of this book, just because they are not household names, they and their service should not be forgotten. This book would be good for anyone looking for...1. motivation or spiritual renewal and to be inspired to serve humanity (inside or outside the Faith)2. Early Baha'i history and the people responsible for establishing the Faith in the west
