Great travel brush. Still keeping the badger hair brush at home.
I bought this to be a travel brush. My regular badger hair brush with all the time required for soaking and drying just didn't seem like it would travel well. After a couple of trips with it, I've been mostly pleased. The sleeve is handy for packing, it dries fast and doesn't really need to be soaked. I disagree with the reviewers who said it is too soft for a good lather. I've had not trouble getting a good lather going with the brush and the size is the same as the typical brush. And best of all, no shedding! All in all, I've only got one complaint with it compared to the badger brush and that is how it handles heat. I like a hot lather. This brush cools really fast so by the time you're done making the lather it has already cooled to the point that there is no heat going on your face. If you spend some time soaking the brush, this seems to be better but still not the way my badger hair brush works. So for me, it is a great travel brush as I think the differences are an advantage for needing to be packed up and so on, but at home, I will stick with my badger hair brush and the hot lather!

Excellent Synthetic Brush
Excellent Synthetic Brush. I use badger at home but it's too hard to care for when I travel (I travel about 10 months out of the year for work). Sometimes I'd have to pack my nice brushes away wet and that's no good. This is an excellent brush that dries quickly and performs consistently. I also use the cardboard tube it came in as a case in my shaving kit and it works fine as long as you pack it carefully. Here are some tips I've learned to get the best performance: - The bristles don't hold heat so get some very hot water from the tap, run it through for a few seconds, gently and carefully squeeze out a bit of the water and quickly apply soap. - Use a paste soap from a tube rather than a bar. This is perfect for travel anyway. I like Proraso. - Work the paste in your brush with your hand first, and use a decent amount. Rub it a few times to start the lather. - Rub on your face for longer than you would a natural brush. Really work up a lather and get your beard soft with it. I spend an extra 20 seconds or so just brushing on my face - this really makes a difference. After that you can get a super close shave with a decent DE razor.I hoped this helps - definitely pick one up. It's a great product.

very comfortable to use
Didn't absorb water the same as my badger brush. I had to compensate by adding directly to the soap, but that wasn't an issue at all... just something different. It was soft, and very comfortable to use. The bristles seem very well anchored into the handle. The handle also feels nice and satin like. It cleans up nicely, as well. I really like it. It's soft and durable, that's what I really like about it.EDIT 4/4/2016:After using this for quite some time I have to say it's probably the best one I've seen. I went back to my badger hair brush so I can wear it out (only 1 month older than this) and it's very rough compared to this! I'm debating on buying another one of these, and throwing out the badger hair one so I can have a new one for home and the current satin tip for travel. It travels well since it dries easily and is simple to toss back into the plastic bag to re-box it.

Great Daily Shave Brush
Replaced an older badger hair brush with this synthetic brush and it's become my daily favourite. The Pros: It's very soft bristled yet still does a good job of raising facial hairs. For those of you that wet shave this is perfect, the softer bristles make a lighter looser lather and it holds a helluva lot of water, I have to give it a couple good flicks to get some of the water out before using it. I've used this for a couple months now and from the git-go it hasn't lost a single bristle, zero, zip, nil, none. It dries easily and would make a great travel brush with the tube it comes packaged in. The handle is easy to grip and should fit most regular brush stands. The negatives: I've noticed is that the synthetic bristles doesn't quite hold same amount the heat that natural hair brushes do. And due to it's softness, those of you that like a thick stiff lather will more than likely not like this brush either.Overall a very well made, well designed shaving brush that will hopefully give me years of use before replacement.

Went from travel brush to every day brush almost right away
I originally purchased this to use as my "traveling" brush, since I figured the synthetic bristles would dry faster than the bristles on my traditional brush. Well, after having used this brush while traveling across Europe, I can say that not only does it dry faster and stand up better to use, but also that it is far more comfortable to use that my original shave brush. Some other reviewers has said this brush had a softer feel than others, and I was originally worried the softness might mean poorer performance, but man was I mistaken. Lather creation & retention is great, and it is a joy to run over my face no matter whether I am shaving only a day's worth of beard off or (as is more typical for me) three or four days' worth of growth. Needless to say, I've retired my old bristle brush and replaced it with the Satin Tip. The only problem is that I suppose I now need to order another one to keep in my dopp kit for travel like I'd originally planned since the one I bought has found a more permanent home.

Decent Travel Brush.
I will start by saying that every brush I've ever owned was badger hair compared to this one which is synthetic. I bought this as a travel brush as I'm frequently on the road. I would not use this brush for daily use, however it does work for the occasional weekend trip. It feels very soft, but is definitely a noticeably different texture than the badger brush. The handle has a weird, chalky feeling.I did get a decent shave with the brush. It is definitely much harder to build a lather with this brush, but I'm assuming that's a normal difference between synthetic and badger. The brush dries pretty quickly and collapses nicely into the tube making traveling with it pretty easy.I can't comment on durability as I've only used the brush once. I did notice there was a black dye in my sink after I used it. Not sure if that will go away,
