Q: Does it help with the swelling caused by continuously playing in the upper register on trumpet?

I don't find it to have properties like that. It helps prevent chapped lips and soothes tired lip muscles. For me, playing pedal tones after high range playing seems to help most with swelling.

My kids play woodwind instruments and use it. The band director recommends it.

It does not have any "scent" added, just for the sake of scent. It has a very light citrus scent from the natural citrus oils it contains. It is made from all natural, organic products.
