Works well
Seems to be good. The first one went to the wrong province so took awhile to get the second one.

Works as intended, good quality
Works for taking quick air and pipe temperatures, running water temperatures, etc. I have two, used one for a few years now. Battery lasts long for me, haven't had to replace one yet. Magnet at the base of the probe allows it to cling to ceiling air vents, just don't let it drop from above and put out your eye :)Both of my thermometers read +/- 0.1 deg of each other, which is fine for my uses, if you need something extremely accurate, look for something designed to provide very accurate temperatures, this is a quick pocket style. Though the head is so large, I don't recommend trying to carry it in a front pocket. Somewhat bulky for that purpose. I prefer the easy to read display of this thermometer rather than something that would be more pocket friendly, like the side display types.Head is covered in a thick black rubber shield, peel back the shield to access the battery compartment. The one I received had the pocket clip molded out of plastic as part of the sheath, not the chrome clip pictured, doesn't bother me at all.The hole or "loop" in the end of the sheath (lowest part of the picture" is somehow used to prop up the thermometer. Slide the probe through the loop and use it to prop it up. I find it easier to set the thermometer on its display and just point it up of I'm taking air temperature, not sure how helpful this loop design is, still boggles my mind to this day.I really like this thermometer, both have served me well for what I do with them. If I ever broke one I would just buy another. I have had other types that were much less durable so I chose this one and have no regrets.Durability+easy to read display vs. smaller, less bulky, less durable pocket types

Looks Can Be Deceiving
I bought two of these tester and my first impression was not a good one. The first tester I opened turned right on, but the second one did not. So right off the bat I had to go and track down a battery. The type of battery AB13 is not a conventional type for a battery so that trip was fun. This is the one time I'm thankful for my smart phone so I could discover the AB13 is the same as a LR44. The next bit of fun was changing the battery. Once I wrestled the boot off, which cracked as I was removing it, I discovered a very cheap looking bit of plastic that you split in half to access the battery. It made me think of one of those trinkets you get out of gumball machines. The guts were wholly unimpressive there were two tiny wires soldered to the board, which run into this insulated sheath that runs down into the tube, but not attached. The battery is housed in a cage that makes changing it a challenge. None the less I did get the battery out, back in, all the pieces back together and the boot back on. I put both thermometers in a pot of boiling water to test their accuracy. One registered 211.1 and the other 211.2 so despite the cheap construction they do seem to work. I am going to try to get twenty dollars worth of use out of them rather than deal with the hassle of returning them.

Unit received is defective and delivered without all components
I purchased this about ten months ago, but didn't need to use it until today when it appears our furnace is not working properly. I took the thermometer out of its package, pushed the power button and got an "Err" reading. Then I discovered the promised manual was not in the package. Reading the Amazon description again I noticed the package was supposed to include a " a hard carrying case sleeve that also serves as a pocket clip". Nope. Wasn't there. The company also claims to offer a year limited warranty, but is vague about processing, particularly whether they pay postage to return the unit to them. Postage to send it to them could cost about 2/3 to half the cost of the unit, obviously a worthless deal.I written them about the situation and will wait for their response, if there is one.If the issue is satisfactorily resolved, I will post a revised review.Right now, I would not recommend this product or brand.Jerry

Good Grilling Thermometer
This is a replacement of the original unit I’ve had for years. We use this as a grilling thermometer and it works great. Obviously can’t leave in the grill due to rubber case, but works well to check temps briefly.
