this book should have received five stars
I have to agree with the reviewer who liked the book but was put off by the poor presentation.Brien Foerster has done some fine research on the elongated skulls. As he explains, these skulls are not (repeat: not) the result of cranial deformation. Not to say that cranial deformation did not occur, it did. But it was a copy cat phenomenon - probably (and this is speculation) because these mysterious people with the elongated skulls were so smart and so charismatic that ordinary humans strove to be like them. Elongated skulls became a status symbol. Ordinary people wanted their children to look like the royals.Foerster identifies ten distinct anatomical differences between normal human skulls and the elongated variety. A couple of which of stand out. These people had larger brains. Also, the location of the foramen magnum at the rear of the skull is a major difference. What does it mean?I think we have to consider the strong likelihood that the people with elongated skulls were not from earth, but came here from elsewhere.Beyond the Black Sea REALLY needed an editor! Brien, are you listening?
