Ovation Idea OPI-1 Acoustic-Electric Guitar Preamp

I purchased two of these, I acquired a Ovation guitar that had this unit missing from the body, and this was to be a replacement. I installed the first one and it worked for maybe 2 days and then quit. I did all the obvious checks for the unit but ended up sending it back. I installed the second unit and it never worked even from the first type. By now I'm pretty angry about this because the shape of the hole in the guitar is such that nothing else will fit. Long story short, I sent this one back also and got my refund, and thanks to Amazon the refund process is easy. The idea behind these units is admirable, but it's no wonder they have been discontinued. And the price of these devices is also nuts. I don't think I'll be buying any more of these junky little mp3 recorders

This device is really great! the tunner option is good and the possibility that make takes of audio is wonderful. Is a good option for make demos for music production.The designe is not for all guitars, I did have problems for the installation in my classic guitar.

A upgrade to the exact replacement item. It fit and is what it is advertised to be. I appreciated the fast delivery and an opportunity to get the most out of my Ovation guitar.

I purchased this from Amazon after looking at the ovation website. The site i bought it from was OK. The problem i had is the Ovation site and the downloads that were advertised as available. First i bought it so i could get some preloaded jam tracks, when I went to the ovation site the downloads were not there as advertised, there were some but nothing useful. I called ovation they told me to look at the Idea for dummies website to get yhe downloads, the site does not work. over all very disappointing. It records Ok, and if that's all you are looking for then you may be OK. i wanted the jam tracks and they are not available.
