Q: Is it possible to put it on after you've put on the ring? The ring needs to be able to slide over the knuckle, but then it's too big.

The guard has to fit inside the ring before you put it on. It's supposed to stay put but mine didn't. Unfortunately, it's a set of sizes and I was only able to use the smallest size and that didn't work.

Q: Could you use this to go down 3 ring sizes? say wear a size 12 ring but have a size 9 finger? Thanks.

I need a 6 to go over the knuckle but have only a51/2 at the ring spot.

Q: Will this work on an 8mm ring with a beveled edge?

It would depend on how deep the bevel is -- if it is a slight graduation, it will fit. "Fits Ring Width from 1mm to 10mm, works both on men's rings and women's rings."
