Birds love these. But.....
The media could not be loaded. The birds absolutely love these, especially the wild parrots. But recently they've all ended up on the ground. Some of them smashed to bits. The cause? The strings aren't knotted. Is it cheaper to omit the knots? Or are Walter Harrisons workforce unable to tie knots? The string quality also leaves a lot to be desired. I would suggest leaving the string off and just having the hole in the shell. This way buyers can use a hook to hang it up (see pictures) and don't end up with a smashed coconut shell and wasted money. Either that or staff training in the seemingly lost art of tying knots.Edit:Over the last few months I've purchased these feeders 6 times at £6.78 for two. Went to order them again today only to find that they are now £9.99 for ONE! That's just pure GREED! I won't be buying from this seller again! Their avarice has forced me to reduce the number of stars I previously gave them.

well filled but let down by poor quality string
I ordered 6 of these fat filled coconut bird feeders @ £7.99 each. Great delight when I opened to see such a well filled coconut but OH!!! the disappointment after attaching one to the hook for the birds only to find string had frayed and broken within 30 minutes. Thought this was a one off so attached another one to hook only for the same thing to happen again. And again with othersThis could have caused an accident as I live in a first floor flat and had my downstairs neighbour been outside it would have fallen on her. So very disappointed because at this price I expected better.

A little too popular with starlings; tits and robins eat it much more slowly; magpies struggle.
The first coconut I bought lasted about six weeks (through February/March). It was mostly eaten by tits and robins, with a few visits from sparrows and dunnocks - plus an enterprising magpie who worked out how to hang upside down off my hanging basket bracket and get into the coconut. The second coconut lasted a couple of weeks - same broad mix of birds, but an occasional starling came by too.The third coconut lasted four days - the occasional tit, but I didn't see much other than starlings. The fourth coconut was gone in under five hours, in early May. The starlings absolutely devoured it - there were sometimes upwards of 30 starlings in my garden at once (which I've never seen before). The starlings are messy eaters and flung bits of suet on to the ground, to be eaten by robins and blackbirds. This coconut is fantastic for attracting large numbers of birds (/starlings), but I'm now going to try some different foods in the hope of getting more variety. The starling show was interesting for a while, but I'd like others to get a look in.

Not as per sales image
Order 8. 1 - the shell was smashed, no big issue ordered a replacement. Then found 2 x no/broken string, 5 x string so short (not like image) that could not get on feeder. Appreciate coconuts are not all equal in size so they varied from 320g - 420g. In the end returned them all. Sorry not great quality in my opinion. Amazon Customer Service 10/10.

The birds love it.
The contents of this are evaporating before our eyes, the various tit varieties love it, as do the robins when they can get a beak in sideways. The blackbirds and woodpigeons hang around underneath picking up the crumbs. We had an issue with the string fraying and breaking so I re-enforced it with my glue gun; when the next one arrives I will do that first or replace it with our string.

Lovely! Just what I needed for the birbs.
I adore these. Birds like robins that can't hook with their claws can still get to the suet. I re-use the empty coconut shells by pressing fresh fat balls into them.

Not the best
So, I purchased these for a treat for the wild birds who visit my garden ( there are many) and even though they were expensive (had to buy a certain number) I thought they would be adequate since there was no washing or filling up required as with suet pellets, but mine arrived broken simply and out of four two were destroyed either in transit or beforeMaking them a very bad purchase and a mistake I shall not make again too soon , thanks

Birds love these
Birds seem love these, the greedy starlings of course, but I have a crow that loves to peck at it from the fence, place it where i know he can get at it as he is too big for the other feeders
