The metal mesh covering makes it very difficult to see the time on the clock. This negates a central function of an alarm clock.It does play mp3 music files from a thumb drive. That is mainly why I bought it. They claim it can play music from a micro sd card as an alarm. That would only be true if 10 seconds of playtime would wake you up before going quiet.

I purchased this product so that I could listen to music without HAVING to use bluetooth. (It does sync as well for anyone looking for a bluetooth speaker) I love that there are so many options for how I can play music (USB, MicroSD, Radio, or Bluetooth). I was actually pleasantly surprised at the sound quality. I listened to the radio and it was super clear. I'm not an expert by any means but it sounds great to me. I found it funny that I had it set to Level 1 on the volume scale for in our house, but I'm comfortable know that we can use it outside at a higher volume easily.It's pretty simple to use, I love the clock feature, and I'm thrilled with the cost. I'd highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a speaker/music player (especially if you're looking to avoid the AI type ones )**Note I just put 4stars for battery life because I JUST received it. Although the instructions say charge it at least every 3 months. Not sure if that means it lasts that long or if some users don't use it as much, but either way, it charges in about 4 hrs.

I wanted a card reading higher quality player for truck camping and backyard use. I am using another one for a stereo computer speaker and it replaces a large expensive POS unit and sounds much better. I bought one to give as a gift and gave them a USB card of my favorites too. The radio seems a bit week. And one has to learn what buttons to use by becoming familiar with it for it to be easy and quick. The sliding on/off switch does not turn itself on on a bumpy road. One has to push the mode button four time after sliding the switch to play from the memory card, 3 times to get blue tooth, and there is a LED display that show where you are. Sounds great, seem tough enough, affordably replaced, and a great value for my purposes.

It started not turning off, glittering, and not being responsive to touching the buttons. 6 months later it won't turn on at all.
