Love never dies
Once I stared reading i couldn't let go and even though had to as the flight ended, I took it up again in the car om the way home.A book that navigates so smoothly between a person's life and an entire society way of living it makes you feel you are there with those people, their families and the entire community. The author did an extraordinary job when righting the book as it made the reader get into the feelings of the character's. But most importantly is the message that is passed on from generation to generation true LOVE never dies and women were, are and will always be strong and determined human beings.Thank you Jennifer for sharing with us. ❤

Riveting!
My favorite genre is historical fiction based on true stories and “Under the Light of the Italian Moon” is a perfect combination of everything I appreciate in a novel. Not only it’s based on the author’s family history, but it’s meticulously researched and written with such heart, you’ll feel instantly attached to the characters and find yourself rooting for them as they go through their struggles. Nina and her mother, the local midwife who delivered more than a thousand babies, are truly worthy of admiration. Their integrity and desire to fight for a woman’s right to decide whether to have a family or not instead of following Mussolini’s insane “breeding cow” program that, no doubt, caused many unnecessary deaths, is something worth applauding. In the dark era of Il Duce, when just speaking out against the regime could lead to one’s denunciation, Nina and her mother fought with all they could to protect the vulnerable women under their charge and later, as the war broke out, Nina’s courage and desire to help save not just her patients, but the lives of the persecuted. The romance that never died despite everything Nina and her husband Pietro had to go through will make you tear up in the end; yes, it’s that emotional. And the main message the book carries - stand up for what is right no matter what the cost - is truly timeless and is more relevant today than ever. It’s a book about family, about brave women’s path, about courage and resilience, about immigrants’ struggles and eternal love. If you love historical fiction and particularly novels based on true stories, don’t even hesitate about picking this one up. You’ll thank me later, I promise.

A gorgeous story about the strength of women during unimaginable times.
I was immersed in the incredibly heartfelt story, which beautifully captures the power of love and resilience. Set in a rural area of Italy, "Under the Light if the Italian Moon" spans through both WWI and WWII and the years following. The novel follows the incredible life of Nina, and the women around her: her mother sisters, and daughters. You feel, laugh and cry along with them as the story takes you through their happiest moments, daily life and the toughest of times. What I loved most about this novel is that it was based on the author's family history. The love and research that Anton put into her novel could be felt on each page. There was rich history, along with vivid scenes and a story that kept me up reading late into night. This book is reminder of past times and the struggles that so many women had to endure. It is an important tribute that needs to be shared with the world. I highly recommend it to Historical Fiction readers!

Not just a love story !
This book was very well written .... I read it in two days , not only was it a love story but a lot of history was included which was very interesting to me . It told the story that stretched two world wars, and the strength of these women and how they survived the these trying times.

not just an Italian moon...
This reads so easy. Although it is historical fiction, I sometimes forgot it was fiction. It is true that the fictional events are based on the stories handed down in the author's family. I think that's why everything seems so real. Worth my time to read.

Captivating
I loved that from the very first page I knew I wasn't going to put the book down until I finished. The author has a God given gift of making you feel like you are in the story walking alongside the characters. I was laughing with them, crying with them them and rooting for them along the way. The whole story was just so passionate I couldn't get enough, it will definitely be one of the few books I read over and over again.
