My instructions and I Saved $100.00
Had a repairman offer to fix the snapped cable as the recliner was not reclining. Then I thought of Amazon and this pair of cables popped up. Amazing price and 15 minutes of work. Make sure the tail is the right length and also look at your pull handle if you are replacing it as well. The chairs have specific openings for the handles and there are differences. This particular chair is part of a home theater set from Star Furniture. The pull ring pictured is the perfect fit, and the cable tail (exposed steel part) was also spot on. I unscrewed a Phillips head screw at the pull handle, and made sure it was free. Then rolled the chair to its side and extended the recliner by un hooking the latch on the chairs underside. the z shaped end lifted out so the cable was free to pull from the top BUT WAIT. Quick trick I came up with was to tie a thick string to that end and then pull the broken cable out leaving the string through the chair where the cable had been. Now pull out the old cable, put the string that is threaded through your chair on the new cable. Gently pull the string till you have the cable and work the z shaped end back to the latch. Make sure the run is smooth without kinks. Attach the z shaped end, pop in the cable secure plastic stopper (about 6 inches from where the plastic coating starts on the z shaped end). Stand the chair back up and rescuer the latch at the top. Should be ready to go. Hope this helps.

Worked on my Lazy Boy
I ordered this part after the one on my Lazy Boy broke. Apparently this is a common problem, where the little plastic piece used to put the chair in the reclined position brakes off while it's being pulled. If that's the problem that you are having, than this part will fix it. This comes with the plastic pull handle and the cable assembly. The cable assembly on the Lazy Boy is actually different than this one, so just leave the original one attached to the chair. With a pair of long nose pliers, a phillips screwdriver, and a small punch to drive out a pin, I was able to swap out the plastic pull handle in about 10 minutes. Now it works like new again.

Much easier than I thought!
My wife broke the couch foot rest lever and I had no idea how to fix this. With a quick googling I found that I needed one of these replacement assemblies. I chose this one over the other various models because this one was the only one that had the texturing around the face of the lever like the original one on the couch had. Once I got this kit, I used an automotive Nylon prybar to pull the original one out of it's hole after removing two screws. The cabling inside was exactly like what this was, so I actually took the cable off of the new one and just used the original cable since it was still connected on the other end. Once the cable was installed, it was an easy dry fitting into the hole and installing the two screws. Total repair time was literally less than 5 minutes. It was very secure and operated exactly like the original. I was very please with it and now that it's been several weeks since I installed it, I still like it and it's doing great.
