Took a minute but works well with Home Assistant
The mortises my hinge is in was a little janky and unless I left the set screw out enough that it was really loose and almost falling out, it wouldn't make connection with the toggle. I ended up sinking the smaller set screw in first, then the longer one and it's in nice and snug. Have it paired with a Sonoff zigbee usb dongle in Home Assistant on the other side of the house. Near instant triggers on door open and close. A smart door hinge. The future is now folks.Edit: It's been about a week and the only real issue is the battery. a few days after installing it, the battery started dropping day after day, down to about 73%. The hinge is only triggered a few times a day tops so I'm not sure where the drain was. However a couple of days ago it started going up and settled at 86% now. No clue what that's about, perhaps a temperature thing since it's an exterior door?

Nice product that offers a discreet installation. Might not work in all installation situations.
I have two of these sensors paired to my SmartThings v2 hub. One has worked perfectly since I got it 6 months ago. I have it on an exterior garage door and live in the Midwest where the winters get cold. It is March now and the sensor made it through the winter with no issues and still has plenty of battery life to make it for a few more months which would give it close to a year on the factory battery. This sensor is installed approximately 25 feet from a ZigBee repeater with two walls inbetween. My second sensor has given me some issues. I originally had it installed on an exterior door that had a large gap between the door frame and the door. I purchased a longer set pin for the install and initially did not have any issues. After two months the sensor started reporting false open/close events. I tried adjusting the hinge and set pin but could never get it to reliably report events. I have since moved the hinge to a different door that has a smaller gap and have had a lot better luck with it. I still do have the occasional false report from the sensor but it is due either the set pin moving (may need some Loctite) or the contact on the sensor bending. This sensor was initially installed approximately 5 feet from a ZigBee repeater with only a single wall inbetween. After I moved the sensor it is about 15 feet from a ZigBee repeater with 3 walls in between.

Could not get this to work
I'm a carpenter by trade, so getting the hinge installed properly was not an issue, but it did take some careful adjustment. After all that I realize, this thing is not reporting reliably regardless of how the mechanical switch is actuated. I pulled it off the door, put it on my desk, and 4 out of 5 times I'm getting flakey readings. IMO, save your time and go for one of the magnetic box sensors because these things simply are not reliable no matter how well you install them.

I really like these hinge sensors
I really like these hinge sensors! I just wish the set screw was a little bit longer. even after readjusting my doors the hinge sensor set screw is too short and doesn't make full contact all the time making the sensor go crazy sending open and closed messages sometimes 70 times a minute! with some slight reengineering I got ti to calm the hell down and work appropriately. When working properly it's one awesome feature to add om to your home automation system!

Flaky Junk
I have many smart devices, and these are by far the worst. Not one of them was a simple install. I installed each hinge without issue, but getting the sensor to work properly was a nightmare. They are flaky at best. Sometimes they'll quickly switch from open to closed and back to open when I close a door. Also, the batteries on 2 of them have suddenly gone from 87% to dead (my SmartThings hub notified me). I dismantled a couple of these, and am quite unimpressed with the engineering. They're quite prone to mechanical failure. I love the idea of having open/close sensors on my doors, but this are NOT to be trusted. Don't waste your $45...

I get a lot if false open but it is ...
I get a lot if false open but it is due to my door having to much play when closed, its too much for the sensors adjustment range but i should be able to adjust the door to fix it

Dont waste your time
Got 3 of these and the have all steadily stopped working correctly, very flaky on whether they report the correct open or closed status, has to do with the small metal bar that makes a connection to the adjustment screw when closed, over time the screw pushes the bar too far back and no longer makes connection. You then need to pry the bar back forward, we have these on our front and back doors and with 3 girls these are used all the time, I had to adjust these a lot and they finally stopped working. I would never recommend these over the regular magnetic open close sensors.

great sensor
Great sensor. way easier to install that having to drill holes in frames or doors. Connected to Smartthings with no problems. wish i could replace all my door sensors with these. great addon for people with smartlocks and smartthings to have the door lock automatically after a set time (if the door is closed)
