Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump

Explains a lot...
Explains a lot... sadly! Should be read by all Americans of voting age.

If a quarter is true, forget golf and worry for the world
A brilliant book. I'm not a golfer but do understand some of its conventions. The book becomes a thesaurus of grotesqueness; much reads like a comic novel except nothing is funny. You don't need to understand golf to be blown away by the sheer awfulness of Trump's behaviour. Three non-golfing friends have already read it and share the 5 star rating.

Golf's greatest cheat
I'm a fan of Rick Reilly and once again he has delivered a highly entertaining and informative book. The Donald can cheat in politics, cheat in business, cheat on his wives; so be it, but when he cheats at golf he goes too far for Rick Reilly. Mr. Reilly has played with him and caddied for him so he knows of which he writes. For those who don't know him, he is a leading, respected, American sports journalist who specialises in golf. He knows everyone connected with the game and can be trusted to report the truth. While his allegations about Trump seem to be incredible, I believe every word. Trump and his clan seem incapable of telling the truth or playing straight. Trump claims to have won 18 club championships. One he won when he was 75 miles from the competition course ! He claims a handicap of 2.8 which is impressive for any amateur and exceptional for an overweight guy in his 70s. He can't prove it! But according to pros who have played with him he is a 9 or 10 which is also very good so why lie. Because he simply has to exaggerate to the glory of himself.Rick he knows no other way. He has even trained the presidential security team to cheat for him. Reilly also throws a light on some of trumps strange, foreign policies which appear to have been decided on what's best for the Trump golf empire and to hell with America.Shocking yet very funny this is a must read for anyone interested in golf and the con man that is Trump.

Does not live up to the hype
Bought this book after seeing it reviewed in the Sunday papers, and thought this would be interesting to see what would be revealed about Trump’s psyche. Spoiler alert - there is no insightful analysis what so ever. It is really a repetitive catalogue of Trump’s cheating when playing golf and his habit to grossly over-exaggerate. Nothing insightful or revealing that you couldn’t have worked out from seeing him in the media. No doubt it has been factually validated, for fear of being sued, but there is no reveal.Frankly the book is a waste of money, much is common knowledge with little analysis or interpretation of the facts.

Good grief - is he really that bad?
This came highly recommended by a friend and while I didn't care much for Trump beforehand I now despise the man. HHis conduct is execrable and the US Democrat Party owes the world an apology for not running a decent candidate against this loud mouthed, sociopiathic braggart. Well done to the author for a brilliant expose of this apology for a human being

Fascinating, even if a little perturbing
Many of us think that the world is better place with Trump out of the White House. This book gives great insight into his, shall we say politely, shortcomings, quirks and personality deficits/defects.This is not a political book, does not explain his ascendancy to the presidency. Just demonstrates that Trump has always been a superficially charming cheat and inveterate/ pathological liar.It is a delightful and easy read, quite entertaining, so good value for money.I suspect that in a year or two nobody will really care any more, but for now an eye opener.
