Good enough for the money
I made a standalone programmer for a car ECU with mine. I dropped in some switches, posts, a meter and a power supply, and have a self contained box for programming and use as a standalone power supply. It was perfect for this. The metal panels are a little thin for knockout punches, and like to bend if you drill. Sandwiching the panels between 2 boards clamped together fixed that. Once its put together though, the plastic frame and metal corner connectors keep it square and make everything feel much sturdier. I feel that its a good value for its price point. You arent getting a top notch box, but you are paying nowhere near that price point either. I would buy one of these in the future, if I have another project that needs one.

Don't waste your time.
I bought my first case like this from another vendor and it was fine. The joke I received from this vendor arrived in a beat-up Fed-Ex bag and not much protection. Fortunately, it seemed ok at first. Let me be clear. THIS WAS EXACTLY the same case ($1.50 less) however I noticed that this case did not have the front and back attached when it arrived. So I drilled holes into front panel only then to discover that the front and back panel do not fit! That must be why they were not attached when it arrived. The front and back panel would not fit into the white plastic frame.Since I've drilled the front panel I can't return it. I'll eat the 20 bucks and never use this vendor again.

Painted Steel, not Aluminum
Nice box at a reasonable price. Painted steel, so a bit harder to drill or punch than an aluminum box. I used one of these for a power supply build and it worked well, however, i did replace the front with a thicker plate made out of Aluminum. The panels are are all screwed to the two plastic bezels, front and rear. Everything is held together with those plastic pieces, but it works OK. You can disassemble the front, back, and top cover, for easy access to the bottom to mount parts. There are reinforcements on the top corners, as the cover is fairly light gauge steel. Nice paint job, maybe powder coat. Mine arrived damaged. Packaged, in very light gauge bubble wrap, and thrown in a box with other loose items. There is a scratch in the front, and a dent in the back. The bag of case screws thrown inside the box, scratched the inside, so I can't just turn the scratched plate around, because the inside is worse. Most people take pride in their work, if they are allowed to do so.

Nice enclosure but shipping could be better
The enclosure was well made, and the price was good. Shipping was super fast. However, it shipped in a padded envelope. Of course the corners are going to take a beating. Not blaming the USPS, but Amazon could have put it in a cardboard box.

Great Value - Minor warning
The unit has a mostly plastic frame with metal top, sides and bottom. (Tin, not aluminum). Adequate enough for most all uses. NOTE: The metal cabinet is only screwed to the plastic bezel pieces. Thus, the cabinet is NOT grounded. I used this for a few arduino projects and EMI (in and out) can be an issue. So add an extra screw(s) from the upper cabinet to the lower metal frame piece. (A 3 min job). This should certainly be done if you have AC line power going into the unit also.

If you're looking for a home for your ubitx, look no further!
I purchased this as a case for my Ubitx V6 ham radio kit. When it came time to mock everything up it fit like a glove! It's sturdy yet not so thick gauge that its unnecessarily heavy. And to top it off its priced fairly. I will definitely be recommending this case to the ubitx community and on the forums. Thank you for providing a quality product at reasonable price.

Great little low cost hobby box however.....
Great little box but came poorly packaged in a plastic bag. Consequently the corners were beat up. This box is fine for home projects as long as you do not have to meet any grounding or shielding requirements. The base, front, top and rear panels are all insulated from each other making proper grounding and shielding impractical. The front and back panels screw into plastic so they will not take a lot of answer,y and reassembley. But it is hard to find a Caddilac when your pocket book says Volkswagen !

Good box, but arrived with damage
I bought this box because I really liked the blue color. I think the quality of the materials are plenty fine for DIY electronics project. However, the box arrived with paint scratched in several places, and one of the side panels was warped and had a large dent in the corner. The panels were screwed on with two screws when I received the box. It was generally packed well so I do not think the damage occurred in shipping.I was not too bothered with this so I went ahead and used it anyway. However, be careful with this if you are very concerned with the cosmetics of the product.
