Hall Of Fame Or Hall Of Sham(e) SALMAN KHAN
Don't forget the fact that this book was first published in 2004 So whatever has been revealed by BISWADEEP GHOSH about SALMAN KHAN the Undisputed Superstar does not come beyond the cut out period when the book first went to Press...From 2004 to present day 2016 but naturally a lot of water has flown under SALMAN "Chulbul Pandey KHAN bridge as is only natural but alas this first edition could just encapsulate Three major fair ladies in his colored life ..It Is believed to have all started with the then virtually unknown SHAHEEN JAFFERY with whom the gangly teenage SALMAN was deeply besotted but it sadly did not go beyond being a one way crush that withered and died as most crushes are destined to..Then came Former Miss India & Perhaps India's foremost Supermodels SANGEETA BIJLANI about whom reams of pages were written and printed in Stardust alone. Yet JOYDEEP is successful in bringing out rare insights into the volatile affair that brought SALMAN KHAN on center-stage as a ladies man... After a brief dalliance with ZEBA and loads of one night stands finally the Bijli went out of this heavy duty romance as their doomed romance short circuited when SOMY ALI arrived in Bollywood and not before long She had not only stepped in and made Herself comfortable in SANGEETA's High Heels having moved into SALMAN's life even before He had sent Ms.BIJLANI Packing for good..All that could be packed into the 146 pages Hall of Fame (Shame?) JOYDEEP along with the Editors of Stardust actually manage to reserve an entire chapter for the Hum Dil De Chuke Hain Sanam AISHWARYA (then) RAI & SALMAN..After that there is virtually no more room for any other (miss) leading actress dalliance with SALMAN to be incorporated...Not even KATRINA KAIF.Even though nothing at all is new as any SALMAN KHAN fan or admirer would know what is repeated in this book even in their sleep yet what makes this book interesting are the in-depth observations that clinically dissect the psyche of SALMAN trying to figure out why He did what He did even if it destroyed Him in large chunks as an individual even as He grew in Strength as a Superstar. Perhaps NARI HIRA the head honcho of Magna Publications could consider commissioning a Volume-2 to take the Salman Story forward as there is a lot more to SALMAN KHAN than just SANGEETA BIJLANI and black bucks or AISHWARYA RAI (now BACHCHAN bahu) and the rash drunk driving episodes a dozen years down the line.Priced reasonably at Rs.175 the book had all the makings of a Successful SALMAN KHAN film and The forces behind Stardust actually believed this would perhaps be the first bestseller to break into the 100 Crore Club that is why perhaps worrying about the book being sold in black as the SALMAN Bible even AMAZON put an embargo that no buyer could book more than two copies of this potential bestseller...Would it not have been wiser to bring out a Reprint Edition instead?Perhaps the Stardust logic was that even if every single fan bought two copies of the SALMAN KHAN Bible not just the author alone along with the Editors of Stardust but even NARI HIRA would go laughing all the way to the (Swiss) Bank So why bring out a Reprint Order? If You vouch on Stardust and still need a monthly fix then no matter how repetitive this book may actually be..It nonetheless makes great reading even in flashback as one gets a feel that they reading A Stardust Annual dedicated to SALMAN KHAN!!!"

Portrait of an enigma
This book is part of the series written by the editors of Stardust Magazine, one of the major entertainment publications in India, published in 2004. This book gives the reader a fair and objective look at Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, his early years, what kind of person he is beyond the movies and headlines generated by the controversies he has been involved in. Again, a must read for every fan of his, and anyone who is a fan of Indian cinema.
