P-Line250 Yard Fluorocarbon Fishing Line

I've been using the P-Line Fluorocarbon product for years on my crappie and trout reels (All spinning reels). I definitely notice a difference in catch rates when I use it and it does a really good job of not snapping when getting snagged. Coupled with a jig head that bends itself when stuck, I've been able to fish submerged trees with little fear of losing everything if I get stuck. I've tried other Fluorocarbon products and none of them have stood up to P-Line.The only problem I have with it is how much it backlashes on me. I know one of the downsides of using fluorocarbon is the high memory which will cause the backlash,, but I don't remember it every being as bad as it was with this spool. My suggestion is to not over feed the reel and you'll avoid some of these rat nests and save some time.

I wanted to like this product. However, it seems to have a very high amount of spool memory. I put this on a baitcaster and encountered a backlash that cost me 25% of the line length...twice. I have 40 years of baitcasting experience, and haven't had something over spool like this since basic Trilene mono had. The P-Line seems to be just fine on spinning reels, but on a baitcaster it wants to retain a really tight spool memory.Having used baitcasters as lone as I have, you just accept that birdnests are going to happen. But, these have been costly. Spend the extra money and the P-Line tactical. It doesn't seem to have the problems that the basic P-Line fluorocarbon does.

I bought several weights of this line based off the reviews for the 6lb. The 6lb has amazing strength and I use it as my tippet for nymphing on the Tongariro river in New Zealand and the surrounding smaller rivers. I'm averaging 4 - 6lb trout with most of my catches and the 6lb hasn't failed me yet. I usually make a leader of 10, 8 and 6lb and it is a good combination for me. I highly recommend this line.

This line is great. After I spool up I spray it with KVD line conditioner and it's magic. Also very abrasion resistant.
