Very impressed with all it includes for the price!
There are 48 pages of maps (world, continents, sections of continents, countries) and 18 pages of index, listing 192 countries, their capital, area, language, major cities with latitude & longitude coordinates to find them on the corresponding maps. The book states a copyright of 1996 with a 22nd printing in September 2017. The inside cover includes major rivers of the world (by continent & listing the length) as well as all 50 U.S. states, their capital, area, population, nickname, and date admitted into the Union. The back cover shows a map of time zones for the US, and a list of major world cities and the time difference from NY.

Useful but kind of hard to read easily due to organization and condensation to keep it small!
I often want to check a location of a country, flag, land mark, etc. It does help but is not easy to use. Still worthwhile.

Competent and Concise
This is a very thin volume for tugging along to class in your 3-ring binder. I was disappointed but then again it is fairly thin. Don't expect more, considering the price, than a quick boost of background knowledge. Still, this will be a big help and is trustworthy. A real find for your budding Jr High/Sr High-schooler. Good for an at-school homework/classwork assist.

it's perfect for my needs as a general reader
Not to be compared with exhaustive school/library atlases, it's perfect for my needs as a general reader. It's easy to follow and super-easy to carry around - also has three rings which makes it suitable for insertion in note books. The price is very affordable. Every student should have one.

Basic Atlas
Pretty basic. Has 48 pages of colored maps which show regions of the world to give coverage to the whole planet. United States doesn't get special treatment - just 1 page. Very brief info given for each country. Has listing of major cities with their latitude and longitude.

Essential for traveling
I have traveled to 25 countries and always take this with me. It is very compact and light. It holds up well when traveling sometimes in the worst of conditions. Most of the maps are two pages and they fold together nicely. Bottom line if you go traveling take something like this with you. It is a great conversation starter and you can easily show people where you live in relation to them.
