Meizu POP 2S True Wireless Earbuds Bluetooth 5.0 in-Ear Sports Earphone Headphones Touch Control with Wireless Charging Case

I have been having difficulty when it comes to reviewing and rating these MEIZU POP 2S True Wireless Earbuds Bluetooth 5.0 in-Ear Sports Earphone Headphones with Touch Control for several reasons. These do actually work really well and they were really easy for me to connect to my phone, not having to download any additional apps, just connect to Bluetooth and away you go!Read your instructions because then they will tell you how to control the touch controls of the earbuds, which is great and you won't have to go into your phone to make simply changes, such as play/pause, skip, etc.These slotted into my ears so smoothly and nicely, in fact these are actually the nicest feeling earbuds that I have used. They didn't hurt or start to ache and I forgot they were in after a while because they felt so natural.Now for the negatives. The problems I found when it comes to these Earbuds is that the Touch Controls are a little too sensitive. I have long hair and I tried using these while taking a nap and it was a nightmare. The moment my hair brushed past them, or my pillow pressed up against them, they mistook it for me touching it and kept pausing what I was listening to.And lastly, these Earbuds don't come with a charger!! I know that this is a trend now that things are not coming with chargers and things and you then have to go and buy extra, or they're hoping you already own the necessary adapter/USB cable, but that just annoyed me and would have annoyed me even more if I had purchased this. You get the Earbuds Charging case, but not the USB cable to charge that case, so unless you own a USB C cable (I think), then you will have to go and buy one in order to be able to continue using these.

The MEIZU POP 2S True Wireless Earbuds Come boxed and wrapped in plastic. Inside, you find the charging case, set neatly in foam and cardboard. Underneath this is a little box with spare buds in larger and smaller sizes than currently on the earphones. No charger though, which is very strange!The charging case has 4 pin hole sized lights on the outside to show the Level of battery life. Inside the charging case, the earphones glow a pulsing white light on the outside.The instructions say to charge the case with the earbuds in for 10 minutes before first use. Luckily, I have the right cable for this.I then pressed the button on the back of the case for 2 seconds to put the earbuds into pairing mode. My phone found the earbuds straight away and I could then pair immediately.You are supposed to set the earbuds into your ears and then twist them until they sit comfortably. When I did this, I found the sweet spot quickly, but they look a little odd at the angle I’m wearing them. So not sure if that’s right but either way they fit snuggly. They don’t feel like they would fall out, even whilst exercising. They also don’t stick out of the ear a lot like some earbuds.The sound quality is very good. They can go really loud and the whole range of sound is nice and clear. You don’t lose that when the volume is low and yet they still cancel out sound very well. The only thing these buds lack sound-wise is bass. It isn’t tinny but is a little more subtle than I’d usually like.I am yet to test out the sweat proof function but these do claim to be somewhat waterproof. The function buttons on the earbuds are very responsive. They are easy to use and always work first time when skipping between songs, stop, play, answer calls and cancel calls.The calling function and mic is decent. Callers can hear me clearly and I can hear them well too.I love the look of these and the general function. They are a good, cheaper alternative to the top range brands but I just can’t get over the fact that they don’t have a charging cable inside. You shouldn’t spend on wireless earbuds and then have to buy cables also. Fortunately I was testing these and I had the correct cables. Otherwise a really well made product with lots of good features.

The MEIZU POP 25s are a good option in this price bracket. A brand I have not come across before, the packaging is a little utilitarian but the build quality of both the earbuds and the charging case seems good. The case is a box with curved sides and flat top and bottom; the USB-C charging socket is, strangely, on the bottom, in which you would expect the case to stand while charging; 4 LEDs on the front show the charge level. Pairing is simple - you press a button on the rear of the case to initiate and it is seamless from there. I find that stemless earbuds tend to fall out of my ears but these sit securely and comfortably for extended periods.The sound is good throughout the spectrum with good separation and clarity, occasionally sounding a little compressed but not overly so. Bass, mids and high frequency instruments sound good and the buds handle music from acoustic guitars to metal and bass-heavy dance music well. Touch controls seem to be limited to play/pause (1 touch on either unit) and skip track forwards (2 x right) & back (2 x left) and are a little sensitive - it’s easy to double touch when all you intended was to pause. There is no ear detection, so music does not stop when buds are removed although does so when both are placed in the case and lid closed. This would be a nice feature but would likely push the price up but, other than that, and the curious placement of the charging socket, I have few complaints. A solid entry in the lower-mid range.
