It is free standing and the hanging thread can be removed. I was suitably impressed by it and bought one for our tree also.They do other breeds of dog in their range. Worth checking out.

We ordered this along with a German Shepherd Bauble , before Christmas. They ran out of stock on the Collie, but we decided to wait until they had stock . It came today before the estimate. One word came to mind , Wow ! We love herding dog's and these baubles finish the tree at Christmas

Got this has a gift for my daughter has we lost our border collie and this is in memory of him heavier than expected lovely product was on the tree but now in the cabinet next to his ashes

Ordered 3 of these as Christmas gifts. They are really nice and chunky. Only thing is they might be too heavy for some Christmas trees. Lovely present for Border Collie lovers
