I purchased these to repurpose a pair of shoes for my daughter. They shed a bit after after removing from the package and I quickly used a blow dryer on cool setting to fluff them up as she needed them right away. Hanging them up overnight would have done the same thing. There was no smell at all. They come on a soft rope which I cut into strips and hot glued onto her shoes making a beautiful pair of maribou heels. She is a dancer and they have stayed out and she has received many compliments. They are nice quality and look classy and I would definitely purchase again.

I have two of these and one is definitely thicker than the other and neither matches the yellow in the pictures.I ordered this boa to use in a puppet build and needed it faster so paid $6 in shipping. Unfortunately Amazon said the package was lost and they would ship out a replacement as fast as possible.When the replacement arrived it looked yellow in the small plastic bag it is crammed in. At first I was very disappointed because it did not look as fluffy as in the photo. I hung it out and in a couple hours it was looking better but still had spotty sections. It wasn't as full all the way through like the picture..Also in the light it was a lot paler yellow than in the bag. If you laid the boat down where it's slightly compressed it would look darker but when you held it up it just had a pale effect.Since Amazon had refunded my money for the inconvenience, I'm playing around with dying a couple pieces to try to get the color to match what I'm already using in the puppet..During this time, I'm assuming the lost boa decided to show up at my door. This boa looked a lot Fuller and had more weight. It definitely had the fullness like the pictures after an hour out of the bag and didn't have the spotty areas like the first one. The issue? It was light orange. Not gold and yellow, not pale yellow but a light Rusty Orange. Unfortunately, this can't be dyed yellow.One wonders if the yellow boa sent was the 20 g one advertised not the 30 g that I had ordered. It's disappointing the fluffier one was not the right color.My guess is you might have to try a couple times to get the right one in the right color. I will say it did appear to have a yellowish color when compressed in the bag but it was definitely not yellow out of the bag when fluffed up and using a sample piece and wetting it you could definitely tell it is an orange which is odd because I don't see orange being offered in their color choices.

The media could not be loaded.  I used the feathers to make a fried pussy cat. This turned out really well and made the best finishing touch for my office space in a Christmas decorating contest at my work. I’m a huge fan of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and knew I wanted to have this as my theme. I saw a few premade fried pussy cats but wanted to try to do it myself. This took maybe 2 hours to do and was pretty easy to make. The only downside was that I needed to cut the piece so that I would have enough. I cut the piece for the tail and ended up having feathers everywhere. If you can avoid cutting it, then you shouldn’t have any issues with losing feathers as there are pretty intact to the main rope. Overall- super soft and fluffy. You really can’t tell that it’s feathers versus cat hair for my diy project.

I just don’t know how this can be a boa. It is like a string with a small bit of fluff on it. I am being generous with the “small” fluff. It is shocking. I actually laughed at getting ripped off this bad.

Works great! Used it for my friend’s Clue birthday party and it was a hit. Definitely sheds some feathers some, but that’s to be expected.
