Inspired by john lennon classic eyewear frame, the oliver red is a hand-made, all acetate oval frame designed with wooden accents. Hand-placed ethically sourced padauk wood accents were added to compliment the matte blue eyewear frame after the acetate was tumbled in walnuts to cure any imperfections. The end of the temple is complimented with a stainless steel temple tow reading desiar, only to be seen by those who wear the frame. On top of the frame reads, carpe diem – meaning ‘seize the day’ in Latin and mmviii – the year jamal robinson began designing sunglasses, starting the desiar brand. The oliver blue frame is handled over 100 times throughout the production process.
