A small holiday in the middle of the week
I love Jill Mansell's stories. I think what I like most about them, apart from the characters that are fun to read and get to know as the stories progress, is that that are like small holidays. They transport me to an altogether less stressful place than the one I usually occupy with kids and work and studying. 'Head over Heels' is no exception. It's a charming, funny story about finding love where you least expect it, and finding love that seemed to be lost, but wasn't. The characters are believable, and the story moves along at a steady pace, so you don't get bored. I didn't want to stop reading until the end, and that for me is the mark of a good read, even if I could kind of see the ending coming a mile off. Then again, that is another thing I love about these books - no prolonged and unresolved suspense, and even though I can see what will happen to the characters, it's lovely and satisfying to read when it does. I would recommend this as a holiday read, or even as a midweek escape.

Head Over Heels for this one
Many years ago, I began to order British books from Amazon UK. One of the first novels that I received was by Jill Mansell. I continued to enjoy her light, funny and romantic reads as late night books. More recently, the novels have been available in the US through Sourcebooks. Head Over Heels, my most recent read, reminds me of a modern Shakespearean comedy as couples come together, move apart and come together again. If you enjoy a fun read, all the while knowing that all will turn out well, this could be for you.

Unexpectedly interesting
I have read many of this author's books but wasn't prepared for the twist and turns this story took. It was a fun read that kept me wondering what was coming next.

Fun as usual!
This book follows the premise that "it takes a village" to tell a story. A house of bachelors, a single mom, a work- away husband, and a famous actor w/family. I enjoyed the characters, the storylines, & the humor.

Best Chick-Lit author!
I've read all of Jill Mansell's published books. What a hoot! Don't let the number of pages daunt you; the books are an easy read and keep you turning page after page. Love these!

Convoluted storyline
This book started out with an interesting storyline; however, several characters were introduced throughout the book which made it difficult to follow. Also, some of the characters had unrealistic storylines, which may cause the reader to lose interest.I have read several books by this author which were well written and difficult to put down. This book lacked substance, and the main characters were unbelievable.

Seemed to lose its way
I’m fairly new to Jill Mansell books and the ones I’ve read previously I’ve really enjoyed. Even though some were clearly re released so a little dated. This one was dated but also rather disjointed. Poorly drawn characters that you really didn’t invest in. It was as though the author had run out of storyline and just threw in any old thing. It hasn’t put me off Jill Mansell, after all You can’t please all of the people all of the time.

Not the best of Jill Mansell
I am a great admirer of Jill's books and there are a lot in my bookcase. However, I don't know what had ailed the author when she wrote HEAD OVER HEELS! It is not only an improbable story but the characters are 2 dimensional and the dialogue often ridiculous, not even fitting such improbable characters. On the good side (earning a solitary star) was the typical engaging humour found in all Ms. mansell's books.I am sorry to disparage an author whose huge output is so very good, but there has to be an exception.

Not one of her best
I have mixed feelings about this author. Some of her books I've loved, others, like this one, I found alright but wouldn't want to read it again in a year or two. I have a box where I put my 'keep for reading again' books, and a box for charity shops. I'm afraid this book is already in the latter.

Another triumph
I have never read a mansell novel I didn't love. This one full of unexpected entertaining plot twists leaves you feeling warm and engaged with with the wonderful characters. It's always a joy to read mansell.
