so nice to find this out of circulation book... simply loved all the timeless designs in it....

I am generally considered a sweater knitter among my many knitting friends. And while I enjoy working cables and various designs, sometimes I want to make something that is simple and easy and not a brain drain. This book contains lots of patterns that are right up that alley. I have already made the Collared Cardi, an easy and fast knit that turned out just like the photo, and am planning to knit the Red Striped Pullover from the cover photo soon.Buy this book and don't be scared to prepare to make an attractive, stylish sweater...even if it's your first. If you can knit and purl and have a few very basic knitting skills, you CAN make one of these sweaters. Just think how proud you will be to show your friends your new Vogue sweater.Patterns are clearly written and schematics are very useful. Styles run the gamut from classic to playful to elegant and artsy.

Le "très simple" en tricot , c'est parfois importable, sinon monotone.Dans ce livre, on trouve des styles très divers, depuis des formes très classiques à des montages originaux , des textures fines et transparentes jusqu'à très épaisses. S'il s'agit parfois de rectangles sans réel faconnage, il seront élégamment tournés ou rendus attrayants par le travail des points, mais il y a aussi de quoi mettre en pratique des ajustements techniques.La simplicité recouvre tout de même aussi, au travers de certains modèles, des techniques de torsades, de jours, de changements de couleurs ( en bandes, mais aussi en motifs Fair-isles et intarsia), ou quelques motifs fantaisies réguliers.Les montages sont divers, y compris circulaire.Les données nécessaires sont bien détaillées, en anglais , avec schémas.Bref, c'est un livre qui permet bien aux débutants en façonnage de s'initier tout en produisant des pulls qu'on peut vraiment bien aimer porter.

I am writing this review having received my book and looking at the patterns and than handing the book to my mother to have a look at so its comeing back the book but this review is based on someone who knits, me and what are the patterns like , does it live up to its claims in my opinion of variety and such ..I love the book , i manged to have a look inside on here and thought it was good , looking in the book i was very pleased and surprised to find lots of ponchos or wrap tops , good variety in all styles , these are all going to look fantastic with jeans , leggings , thicker winter leggings or knitted ones and ones with legwarmers , jeans and boots and all of those ..longer cape style so if your look is a little "Emo" or you like to mix and match as in the Helena Bonham Carter style or just your own unique take on that your going to love this book !!It also has lovely delicate tops that are easy to knit , going out styles , lots of longline tunic style sweaters again great ith leggings or jeans or anything so and little shorter boxy type wraps or jackets and lots of general sweaters not just one type of sweater knit there are plenty of variety on the sweaters styles ..In my opnionion its quite rare you open a book and your able to say .." i like every one of these " !! generally or in the past , i have opened a knitting book and thought there was one or two or maybe three i liked and you pay for the book and not want to knit the others ..not with this one your prob want to work your way through the lot !!Also you will be finding it hard to chose which one you want to start first, for me its prob one of the poncho or sloppy long wraps ..they are great and look really cool with your leggings or jeans .This book is a step just below the designer top Vogue knits that are harder ..theres a few of these type of books and i got another book not arrived yet based on Hutchinsons review , which i thank you for those look good and its hats and stuff lots in that and they look very pretty ..so love this book very wearable stuff and although they may not be just out now , they are on trend ..of course .

This is my go to book, can build on the ideas and it helps me to create my own paterns using different styles and yarns. I made a cover page pullover some years ago and still get compliments for it. Took a pattern from magazine at that time and "did it my way" a bit- with good final effect. The book is more handy than searching through older magazines so I kep it handy.
